ATMs are by the info hut (main entrance) and Ground Floor Grandstand near the burger bar. All bars accept card payments.

Paddy and Maureen Mullins

This race celebrates one of Ireland’s most successful National Hunt trainers and now also celebrates the Queen of racing, Maureen Mullins, who sadly passed away on February 14th, 2024.

While Paddy will be remembered for having a special ability with mares and as the man behind the great Dawn Run, the only horse in history to win the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup, Maureen will be remembered for being the matriarch and backbone of the Mullins family.

As an owner Maureen enjoyed much success, but most notably with the 25-time winning mare Grabel, whom Paddy trained, Maureen co-owned and Tony rode, her biggest victory was in the 1990 Duelling Grounds Hurdle in Kentucky, the richest jump race ever held in North America.

Paddy and Maureen’s legacy will never be forgotten as the Mullins family name is never far from the racing headlines.

Today, as we start a new year, we take a moment to honour and remember our dear friend and colleague, Kate O’Sullivan, who sadly passed away in October 2024.

Her passion for the sport led her to pursue an MBA in Thoroughbred Studies in Liverpool. Following her studies Kate had a remarkable career, leaving her mark in Irish racing, working with Horse Racing Ireland Marketing, Leopardstown, Fairyhouse, Navan, and the Curragh Racecourse and most recently at the Irish National Stud.

Kate’s impact on Irish racing, and on the lives of those she worked with, is immeasurable. She was also a kind and beautiful soul who touched the hearts of many.

Today, we celebrate Kate’s memory and the legacy she leaves behind. She is deeply missed but will always be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
