Well, I’ve always enjoyed Pride because it gave us the opportunity to celebrate everybody together, and straight, not straight, everybody together. Families, friend families, just everybody. And I want to wish everyone a very happy Pride. It’s been years since I’ve been able to celebrate with everybody because of work. But my sister will be with me. The last time she was with me, my mom was with us, too, on the float. It was a fire truck we were on.

And my sister and I and my mother were able to celebrate Pride together, and that meant the world to me. And in ‘94, when we had the “Deadly Cyns” record out, that was incredible; they were so afraid that we were going to be shut down in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral because they didn’t want noise. It was Cardinal O’Connor, and I felt that five years, I don’t know what the heck. Sure, I’ll probably he was definitely a man with braces on his heart. And I sing. I’ll probably do something because I love singing, thought, please, please, God. So it’s fun. And that’s what my big ambition playing piano would be, just to play a darn Christmas song.

How about a new album of all original music?

Here’s the thing: “Working Girl: The Musical” and “Kinky Boots” took a long time, and I didn’t want to bastardize what I was doing to take my hat off and become Cyndi, when my hat has to be on for “Working Girl.” I’m trying to get the “Working Girl” thing out — go out of town in ’25 and on Broadway in ’26. That would be a dream come true.

And then a new studio album?

Well, yeah. Then I could relax for a second and write for me. Figure out how I feel. I haven’t for a long time. And I realized that when I was a kid, I used to write poems all the time. I just wrote poems and drew pictures. And now, I don’t do that, so I feel like maybe I got to just draw pictures and write poems again, just for me.

If anything, I would want to do a back porch record. Kind of simple. Go somewhere, maybe not Tennessee, because that’s getting a little too hard-headed for me. Some place where you could sit on a porch and just everybody sit around like I used to when I lived in Vermont. After school, at night, I’d run across the cow patches, try and avoid the mud pies, with my guitar. Starring Aunjanue EllisTaylor, Sanaa Lathan and Uzo Aduba, it’s the story of three lifelong friends who call themselves “The Supremes,” and who find their relationships tested and life directions examined (presumably at the titular diner). There are some men on the menu, too, with co-stars Mekhi Phifer, Julian McMahon, Russell Hornsby and Vondie Curtis-Hall adding support, but the main course here is going to be the surprising twists and turns of women’s lives. Look for it on Hulu to wind up summer on Aug. 23.

Gregg Araki to direct Olivia Wilde in ‘I Want Your Sex’ Don’t let the title confuse you. It’s not a George Michael biopic. Instead, New Queer Cinema icon Gregg Araki (“The Living End,” “Mysterious Skin”) has something onbrand up his sleeve: Olivia Wilde as a sexual Svengali. “I Want Your Sex,” co-written by Araki and Karley Sciortino (“Slutever,” “Now Apocalypse”) follows provocative artist Erika (Wilde) and her protégé, a young man named Elliot, as she turns him into her sexual muse. What follows, as per the official plot synopsis, is a complicated world of limit-smashing domination, desire, obsession and murder. In other words, the ’90s erotic thriller is back and we couldn’t be happier for the genre to trend all over again.

Besides Wilde, the film has yet to lock down a complete cast, but it’s a certainty that sexy roster will show up when shooting begins this summer in Los Angeles.
