Mini Swings with Big Impact

Mini Swings with Big Impact

By Mikkel Hyldebrandt

After a two-year hiatus, AID Atlanta is bringing back their mini golf tournament that will raise funds to support the vital mission of the organization.

Although this mini golf tournament won’t get you into the PGA, it will certainly provide you with a fun evening after-work event, while raising funds for a vital cause. “We are excited for our return, as it was a huge success two years ago, and we hope it sells out,” says AID Atlanta Director of Fundraising and Events, Jon Santos, “We invite you to form a team of four players, commit to sponsoring a hole or component piece, and bring your friend and family to have a great time.”

Besides ample opportunity to show off your mini swings at the Puttshack, there will also be a Wheel of Fortune, and the chef’s team at the venue will serve up delicious tavernstyle food items along with a selection of adult and family-friendly beverage options.

Each team will be made up of four players that can play the 9-hole or 18-hole course. There will also be individual player passes if you don’t have a team. The scoring system uses cutting-edge technology that measures each swing of the club, so the rightful winner can be found at the end of the night.

Although the night may be characterized by fun and games, they underlying purpose is to raise money. Proceeds from the tournament will help support AID Atlanta’s mission to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life of its members and the community by breaking barriers and building community. The funds raised will go directly AID Atlanta’s care programs, including medical case management, housing assistance, emotional wellness, and prevention through education, HIV/ STD screening and treatment, PrEP services, community outreach programs, and operation of the Georgia HIV/STI Information Line. The mini golf tournament will specifically serve as one of the primary fundraisers for the Sisters with A Voice, Client Emergency Assistance and PrEP Clinic programs.

So, come out for a night of mini swings that carry a big impact!
