Lloyds register of British and foreign shipping or Lloyds register of shipping and Lloyd's register as it's often called is a well known used and respected reference source for finding basic information about ships. Published annually it covers vessels over 100 tons. Vessels are listed alphabetically by name and each entry gives construction and ownership details. Our copies for 1851 and 1861 are complete and include the Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Wooden Vessels, which are of interest to maritime archaeologists and for research into sailing ship construction.
