Candidate Training Conference Do you have what it takes to BEE a Cali-Nev-Ha Lieutenant Governor or District Executive officer?

Candidate Training Conferences (CTC) are for Key Club Members who are interested in being a candidate or a potential candidate for an office above the club level. It is not mandatory to attend any of the Candidate Training Conferences to be able to run for an office above the club level, but the paper work must be turned in on time and to the proper place to be able to run. CTC’s are also great experiences to obtain proper training and guidance for those high-level offices. If you are interested in running for Lieutenant Governor of Division 38 West or for office in the District Executive board, you are highly advised to sign up for CTC. Each high school can bring a maximum of 5 participants (adults are included in this count) to CTC, and you can sign up online at http://cnhkeyclub.org/events/candidate-training-conference. There are two separate CTC’s in Rancho Cucamonga on January 14th and January 21st for LtG’s and District Executive positions respectively. Additional information regarding how to run for these positions or about CTC can be found on the CNH website.

Elections

Club elections should ideally be in January so that the new board can select delegates for Conclave. The offices that people can run for are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Tech Editor. Elections will be handled by the current club officers and club advisor(s). There aren’t many strict rules regarding how elections should be handled, but each candidate should have a set amount of time for a speech and a caucus session. Also, only paid dues members can run for office and vote. Remember that elections aren’t a popularity contest and that the winner should be the most capable of all the candidates.

Conclave

Conclave is where we will be electing the new Lieutenant Governor for the 2012-2013 year. Clubs from each of the schools will bring 2 delegates to represent their school’s vote. Conclave will follow the same procedures as regular club elections. The only confirmed details at the moment are that it will be a joint event with Division 38 East and that it will be in Victorville. At the moment, it is scheduled for February 4th. Also, there will be a fee to pay for food, but it still needs to be finalized.
