Division 38 West Newsletter

Volume 2 | Issue 5 | October 2011

A Letter from the Editor Greetings Robots!

We have a lot of events coming up within a month, and I would also like to make some important announcements! First and foremost, we have the first of many major Key Club events coming—Fall Rally! That means that we need to prepare ourselves by paying our dues, paying our Fall Rally fees, and raising funds for PTP.

In this issue: Letter from the Editor…….…… 1 Special Club Events..….……... 2 Paraclete SSD…..……………. 2 Quartz Hill Carnival..…..…..... 3 Upcoming Events…………...... 4 DTC……………………....……. 4 Fall Rally………………………. 4 Contact Information…............ 5

Also, divisional t-shirts are now available for order! Club presidents must speak with Ms. Jenn Skidmore or one of the members of the divisional board to receive the information required to order the shirts for the clubs. Each club is responsible for ordering their own shirts and having their shirts shipped to their school before Fall Rally. Remember that we all need to be united as a division at these major events, and the first step is to get matching divisional shirts! Finally, I would like to add that the Quartz Hill Key Clubbers are making D38W Robot plushies! It would be very helpful if we donated old shirts and fabrics to them for use in making the plushies. Grays, whites, and lighter colors are preferred. Thanks for your time, Robots! Programmed for Service,

“Caring - Our Way of Life”

Homecoming Carnival Quartz Hill High School

On October 20th, Quartz Hill’s Key Club will participate in our school’s Homecoming Carnival; unlike other clubs, we will not be selling food. Quartz Hill’s Key Club will offer our fellow students a once in a lifetime opportunity: throwing a pie in a teacher’s face without getting in trouble! Now that the first quarter is over and progress reports have been released, many students will want to seek revenge on their teachers, and all it will take is 2-4 dollars! The theme we’re following is the original Mickey Mouse, allowing us to decorate our pie board with a playful cartoon and dress up in funny costumes to attract people over. Not only that, but we’ll be walking around with signs that say “Ask us how we feel!” just to show off our Key Club spirit! With the teachers we’ve selected, Quartz Hill’s Key Club will definitely be making a lot of profit, most of which will be donated to PTP! Brittnee Bui QHHS Member

The pictures to the left show the Quartz Hill Key Clubbers working vigorously on their pie board for their Homecoming Carnival and having fun while doing it!
