Editors message HELLO D38W OWLS! I know that we are a few months in the school year and that it can be stressful but I’d like to say how proud I am to see the amount of time and involvement you all commit to Key Club despite all the other aspects of your life you have to juggle and make time for! I want to remind you all that although Key Club is an amazing club to be involved in, you should also keep your priorities in check whether it be focusing on school or spending time with family or friends while getting enough rest! I hope that you all are doing well and I’d like to thank you for reading this newsletter! Let’s continue to work hard in service and I can’t wait to show our Owl pride at Fall Rally and see your BEEutiful faces there!

From the ltg

Happy October Owls! Is this real life or are we just imagining to be more than halfway through the Key Club term already?! Time truly does fly by—darn! Fortunately, we still have a good amount of time to keep doing our best to serve our home, school, and community. Although this time in the school year can be quite stressful, don’t forget to keep Key Club in your list of priorities, because where would we be if it wasn’t, am I right? With the month of October come many opportunities to get to know your fellow D38W Ohana through both the magic of service and, of course, socials! Please remember that if you are struggling in any shape or form, whether it is Key Club, school, work, or life in general, you may always contact me, or, as teenagers say, “Shoot me a call/text??” and I will gladly help you In any way I can! Although I am your Lieutenant Governor, we are still an Ohana, and with that, I am your friend. Thank you for everything that you all do to serve our division. And as always, L-O-V-E I LOVE MY CUTE D-I-V! Happy readings!

2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor of Division 38 West 4

DCM When people hear clean up they don’t necessarily jump for joy, but during the August DCM at the Lancaster City Park clean up, the DLT made even picking up trash fun. We were separated into teams and then sent off to make our park clean again whilst battling bees, mud, and the wind. Towards the end, my group and I weren’t strangers anymore but a group of friends and that’s what Key Club is all about! Not just community service projects but also bonding with fellow Key Clubbers and forging relationships that will last way after high school. -Kathryn Tripp, Highland High School 6

RECOGNITION MEMBER OF THE MONTH SOAR's member of the month is Emma Navarro. Even though she’s a new member, she has supported Key Club tremendously. She attends every meeting and participates with all Key Club events. For example, she attended the Duck tagging party along with the actual event the following day. Along with generously buying $300 worth of ducks, she's a passionate individual who's quick to get involved and lend a helping hand.

officer OF THE MONTH Division 38 West's officer of the month is Paraclete Secretary Michael Loria! Michael has been an active member in the division since the commencement of this term. He is an enthusiastic officer whom strives to improve on his job as secretary. Since the beginning of his term, Michael has been able to turn in 100% of his MRF's on time! Can I get an "Oh yeah!?". Don't forget to congratulate Michael next time you see him!

7.00 goes to Key Club International 4.50 goes to the CNH District An extra fee can be assessed by the club

Like any organization, Key Club needs money to function at all levels. Both the District and International levels need money for their board meetings and conventions to help promote the core values in our future leaders as well as expose them to leadership opportunities from a young age. Dues also provide Key Clubbers with the opportunity to fundraise for projects such as The Eliminate Project and work with global organizations such as UNICEF.
