Message from your LTG!

Hey Owls! AP testing: over. Spring: over. School: over. Service: NEVER OVER! With summer just around the corner, get ready to bond with your Division on another level! Summer is the time to have fun and let loose, but you can't forget about serving your communities. Stay in contact with your members and club oďŹƒcers throughout these next few months to keep the Key Club spirit thriving. Keep up with your deadlines and make sure to look out for emails and updates over the next few months. Take advantage of your spare time and make a dierence in the community through service projects or just daily acts of kindness. I hope to see you all at events this summer and I can't to serve alongside your smiling faces. Remember to stay involved, and enjoy this break from school. I love you all, and OWL see you soon! With Wings of Service, Aubrey Gilman Division 38 West Lieutenant Governor

April Division Council Meeting On April 28th, Key Clubbers gathered at Little Rock High School to bring this year of service to a close. IP Lieutenant Governor Margarett Lee said her thank you's to all members and officers for their efforts and support throughout the 2016-2017 year. She handed out awards for officers who did exceptionally well in their term as well as more personal awards to her DLT, such as best hugger, most chill, most proactive, and more. In return, her team all gave heartfelt speeches to express how much she is appreciated. Needless to say, we will all be forever thankful for her hard work throughout this entire term. We know she will do great things as District Secretary!

Later on in the meeting, we started to do karaoke! People were pushed out of their comfort zones and sang iconic songs including Baby One More TIme by Britney Spears, the Climb by Miley Cyrus, and Rolling in the Deep by Adele.

To wrap up the DCM and this year of service, a new chapter began. LTG Aubrey Gilman announced who she had appointed to serve on the DIvision Leadership Team! Now, are you ready to meet your new DLT?

Introducing Your New DLT! Hi Owls! My name is Audrey Limb and for the 17-18 term I am very excited to BEE able to serve you as one of your executive assistants! I am currently a sophomore at Quartz Hill High School and I am super excited to be working with the rest of the DLT and you this year. Other than Key Club (which I have fallen in love with after I joined freshman year), some of the other things I enjoy include playing tennis, eating korean barbeque, and binge watching all of my shows on Netflix. I am so pumped to see all of your faces and get to know all of you in our one big, happy ohana. That being said, please do not hesitate to say hi if you see me around and thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve our division.

Introducing Your New DLT!

Hello BEE-utiful Owls! My name is Jade Phoreman, and I am BEE-yond excited to be serving as your Executive Assistant Division Specialist for the 2017-2018 term! Many of you may remember me from last term, during which I had the immense honor of serving as your Division News Editor! I am currently a sophomore at Paraclete High School, where I also serve as Club President. I can honestly say that Key Club is my passion, and that I consider all of you my ohana! There is nothing I love more than practicing servant leadership alongside kind-hearted, passionate people, and I am so grateful that Key Club gives me the opportunity to do that every day! It’s safe to say that my life revolves around this organization in many ways, but when I’m not serving with my fellow Owls, you can find me on the track practicing hand-offs and block starts, in the library with my nose in a chemistry book, or at the piano trying to cover Adele songs. I am so excited to see everyone very soon! I look forward to a memorable term with you all! Service is my purpose, Jade Phoreman Division 38 West Executive Assistant 2017-2018

Introducing Your New DLT! Hello owls! My name is Miwa and I'm honored to serve as one of your Executive Assistants this year. I joined Key Club at SOAR High School my freshmen year of high school and fell in love with the passion that the members had for this organization. Some fun facts about me are that I love caramel frappes and anything sweet however I'm not a big fan of fruit. (I'm more of a veggie person.) I am so excited to see new faces, make new memories, and do my best to serve our Division.Â

Introducing Your New DLT! Hello! My name is Hannah Ban and I am Bee-yond excited to serve as the Service Project Coordinator for the 2017-2018 term! I am currently a junior in Quartz Hill High School. I moved from South Korea when I was ten years old, and I fell in love with Key Club as soon as I entered high school. I love to eat, shop, spend time with friends, and help others. This year I am enthralled to serve in DLT and meet new Owls! I promise to bring positive influence to the community and help brighten up the lives of many people through service projects. I am honored to initiate these plans with D38W Owls. Let's have a fantastic year!Â

Hello, my name is Eric Corona and I am a student at SOAR high school and I am currently in the 11 grade. I will be the new fundraiser coordinator for the 2017-2018 term! To tell a little bit about myself, I joined Key Club my freshman year. I joined the club because I saw all the spirit and pride that the club was showing. Me being loud and outgoing I knew that this would be a club that I would be able to call home and be comfortable to be in. Some hobbies that I enjoy doing is taking pictures, playing soccer, and playing basketball as well. I am super stoked to be part of the Division Leadership Team this year, I am looking forward to be able to meet all of you guys and raise tons of money for our division.

Introducing Your New DLT! HELLOO OWLS! My name is Breanna Potenciano and I am BEEyond excited to be serving as your Division Tech Editor for the 2017 to 2018 term! During this term, I will be a senior at Highland High School. As my last year of high school quickly approaches (as well as my final year of Key Club), I am extremely happy to be able to end it strongly by serving on the DLT. If you know me, you would know that I enjoy painting as well as playing the piano. I hope to have a good term and remember to BEE active and stay connected! I can’t wait to see what this term offers and meet all of you!

Hey guys, my name is Cynthia and I'm your new Division Social Media Coordinator! I'm currently a junior (senior this fall) and I'm super excited and honored to be a part of something even greater now that'll really get me closer to all of you. I'm from Littlerock High school and play Girls Tennis. My free time is spent doing all that AP work (know my struggle?). It's been said that I have a mean/mad resting face but I promise I'm cool and nice :) so don't be shy to start up a conversation.

Introducing Your New DLT! Hello friends/owls! I am Mariah Hernandez, your new Division News Editor! I cannot begin express how elated I am to be serving on the Division Leadership Team during the 2017-2018 term! I am currently a sophomore at Quartz Hill High School about to go into my junior year. I’m somewhat late to Key Club, since I joined at the very beginning of my sophomore year, but nonetheless I have insane amounts of love and passion for this club. Truly, I’ve never been so KEY-mmitted to anything in my life. Other than key club, I play tennis and am a member of Model United Nations at my school. When I have down time, you can find me eating sushi, shopping, or hanging out with my family. I am so excited for this new year of service and I hope to make you proud! I love you, my ohana!

Hey guys, I am one of the new Spirit Coordinators! I am currently a Sophomore at Quartz Hill High School. I enjoy playing football, running track, and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to serving this term as one of your three spirit coordinators. I am very energetic and I hope to bring the spirit stick home with us from fall rally! I believe that with the help of my fellow spirit coordinators, that shouldn't be a problem. It's going to be a fun year, owls. Much love.

Introducing Your New DLT! Hello fellow Owls! My name is Raven Santos and I am very honored to serve as one of your spirit coordinators for this upcoming term! I am 17 years old and currently a Junior attending Highland. I’m your typical teenage Filipino boy who has a passion for service. I love sports (basketball and volleyball), photography, shoes, and enjoy quality time with quality people. One of my KEY goals for this year is to for our division to be as spirited as possible so we can take home the SPIIRT STICK at Fall Rally South 2017! If you see me around, don’t be shy and say hi because i love making new friends! I honestly cannot wait for this new term and I hope to see all of you owls throughout my final year in Key Club!

Hey guys! My name is Kevin Flores, I go to Quartz Hill High school and I am currently a sophomore. I love hanging out with my friends and drinking boba till I can't anymore! Also, the gym is pretty cool as well! As you probably could tell I am very outgoing but I am serious when it comes to my work. Guys, my love towards this club goes to the moon and back! I can't wait to make you all proud! I've served as your spirit coordinator last term and recently been elected to serve one more time! We are planning bigger and better things so get ready!!! Stay you, stay true, and stay bee-utiful!

Recognitions Member of the Month: Kaylee Wheeler For May, the Member of the Month is Kaylee Wheeler because of her positive attitude while serving her community and continuous passion for Key Club. Kaylee has attended many events such as Fall Rally as well as many of the DCMs. Not only has she attended these large events, but she has also been very consistent in attending our weekly meetings. Due to Kaylee’s admirable and selfless determination, Kaylee always joins our ohana and makes herself open to the rest of our club, even if she is not with her usual group of friends. This month Kaylee has volunteered in setting up and working at our school’s HipHop showcase, sacrificing hours to fundraise for our club. With her endless willingness to help out, Kaylee has stood out to many of the officers and is an inspiration for her fellow members.

Officer of the Month: Mackenzie Fernandez There is no one more deserving of being named May Officer of the Month than Paraclete's Tech Editor Mackenzie Fernandez. Mackenzie has been extremely proactive in all her duties from her article/visual submission to creating flyers and templates for fundraisers. She even went out of her way to make sure we have the supplies we need for our latest fundraiser! Mackenzie was the one who came up with the idea to sell Kisses for Seniors Candy Grams, and she has been the biggest help on executing her idea! She has done everything from designing the templates for the messages to buying bags to put the chocolates in! Without her, this fundraiser would not have been possible. Mackenzie is truly a proactive, kind-hearted, dedicated, and driven servant leader, and she most definitely deserves to be recognized for her hard work.
