On behalf of all the members at Albany United FC, we would like to acknowledge and THANK the following foundations for their contributions

Albany United Football Club Rashaad VAHED President’s Message We welcome everyone to Rosedale Park for what we trust will be an enjoyable day of football. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, managers, coaches, supporters, staff, sponsors and my fellow board members for all your hard work in making our club successful. This year marks the clubs 39th season and we hope to add to the clubs great history while building a sustainable club for the future. To the hard work the squad puts in every week, Thank You. You wear the club jersey and colours with pride that stands testament to many people that currently and previously put in to make our club a success and a home. Our past is important to remember so we don't’ forget who we are while creating new history. So Thank you to everyone in the club. Around the club we progressing exceptionally well in all aspects we wanted to achieve this year. Our midgets are going outstanding and enjoying the game while the cluster training is proving to be a key launch in meeting its purposes. We can now move to our plans and extending play to a wider group of clubs which we have been working on in the background and will be ready to communicate this soon across the midget sector. With grading now over, were hoping the juniors and youth will now see benefit from the coaches and dividends will now pay off in the respective leagues. Off field we still have lots we wish to do and achieve and are not pleased with the progress we are making into the plans and wish list. We not a lot of assistance on the volunteer side, the same around 15 people run the operation week in and week out which puts strain on them looking after anything else or putting time and energy into the strategic matters to make us better. Successfully though we are making small in roads to improving and improving our member experience and meeting our strategic goals nevertheless slower than we would like. For today’s main fixture we welcome the Northland squad and their supporters to the ‘Dale for the NRFL fixture. A disappointing few weeks has seen in a scrap at the bottom and despite out playing our opponents last week, not finishing the several opportunities left us keeping the game open and we came away with half of what we planned to. To all our other visitors across the football community, welcome to Rosedale. Best of luck to our coaching and management staff and the squad for their respective fixtures today. To all our Senior teams both home and away; U19s, Africans, Wanderers, Athletic, Humble, Red, Champs, Brewers, Colombians, North End, Watsons Heroes, Devils Rock, Redmen, Undertakers, Nortons, Originals and our Women’s team ….. do us proud. Welcome to all our opposition and supporters to Rosedale. I wish you an enjoyable day and invite you to relax in our clubrooms after.

Albany United Football Club Reserve Team Comments Albany United welcome Northland and their supporters back to ‘The Fortress’ Wow we are half-way through the season already….. Time flies when you having fun! What a start to the season for us….strange results, wiered officiating decisions, staff and players leaving, new players joining and an abundance of injuries. Over the last few weeks we have steadied the ship and results are now starting to turn and with a win last week we are starting our climb and cementing our place in the top half of the table and proving worthy contenders in the league. We fully plan to keep our winning ways going into today fixture and continue our success and form. Our squad is playing and training with great confidence despite still being quite a new squad which is great to see and partnerships are starting to form. Our aim is to replicate how we have been training over the last few weeks and come away with the right result from today’s game, a win for us. To my guys I personally ‘Thank you’ all for the efforts and hard work you are all putting in, especially with all the disruption that has been happening recently. All I can say is keep believing in yourselves and each other, keep fighting hard! I can’t wait to see all the hard work you have all put in at training finishing up with another win today, not just for us but for the ‘Red Army’. A massive thank you to ‘The Godfather’ Bill for his dedication to this team and my new supporting staff, Josh for standing in and helping at such a crucial time of the season. All the best and I’ll enjoy having a beer with you back in the clubroom. Gary HOGG Reserve Team Coach

Albany United Football Club Seniors - Wanderers An incredibly tough battle between two sides who left it all on the pitch resulted in a 1-1 stalemate. A big thank you to the supporters who turned out to watch the enthralling game

Albany United Football Club Seniors - Africans A massive top of the table clash took place. Even the most ardent Africans believers were worried as Madiba's Men took to the field with a depleted bench of two; record signing Wivell overseas. Davids busy being a policeman. The Craque unable to get work off. BossĂŠ in Wellington. Dillon reported missing. But the boys rallied together and managed to produce a great result. Tim Neville opened the scoring from the spot after some great shopping from Alexis Duffin. Duffin then made it 0x2 with a phenomenal drive, picking up Ethan Scholes Neville's through ball. Unclean got a goal back, but this only pumped up Madiba's Men. Not wanting to be outdone by his brother Tim The Bison Neville, Ethan and Myburgh combined for a goal of pure beauty. Myburgh jinked between two defenders before audaciously completing a 360 and laying the ball off to his midfield amigo. The young Reverend Ethan Neville seized the opportunity by rocketing the ball into the top right. Then, the Architect, Bravo Petreski (BAS) to put in the most tasty of through balls, for the tastiest finish from Dylan The Boerewors Budler. Tim Neville responded with a great finish to make it five. Unclean pushed Madiba's Men for the entire 45 minutes, and managed to get one back, but it wasn't enough to win. Paul Neuer O'Leary was busy in goal, making many key clearances, super saves, and important punches. Full time score: 2x5 to the Africans.

Albany United Football Club First Team Comments This weekend we welcome Dan and Dave, squad and supporters from Northland to Rosedale Park, for what will see us kick off our first home game into the second half of the season! Northland haven’t managed a win yet this season but have shown glimpses of quite the opposite. Currently sitting bottom of the table they hold the cards in deciding lots that could happen to the league. One place below us with 3 points the difference and todays fixture is an important one for both teams. Coming off a 1 goal defeat to one of the league contenders in Waitemata and it shows they are no push overs. Turn some of those narrow defeats into victories over the second half of the season and they could easily put themselves towards mid table. Moving on to Albany’s fortunes and it’s fair to say that since the last time of writing we’ve put some hard work into action. Disappointed we were with the loss to a strong Ngaruawahia who put together strong performances to top of the table, we were pleased with our performance. For most of the game we out played our opposition, took the game to them and should have been roughly 4 or 5 up at half time but for some valiant defending by Ngara. A very solid performance nonetheless considering some weekends prior we would rather forget about. We’ve worked hard this week and know the importance of today and hope to make amends by putting forward a solid performance today that we can proud of and will do what we can to come away with a vital win. The boys have all worked hard in training this week and I’m looking forward to seeing a positive reaction from them out on the field today! Lastly, let’s keep fingers crossed for some decent weather and a chance for both teams to play some entertaining football. I look forward to welcoming all our visitors from Northland to the clubhouse for the aftermatch speeches and enjoying a beer or two after the game. All the best, Tel Sheehy First Team Coach
