Elected Officer Committee THURSDAY 14TH FEBRUARY 2019

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were noted. 3

Reports and actions on mandates received

 AU Club are doing more events which are going well There have been some attendance issues  Soc Fed SB presented her Universal Credit mandate which was passed  SRF It was a busy meeting Reps were asked about participation in student life preparation  Scrutiny Committee It was a straightforward meeting  Ordinary students There were no issues to report 4

Drafting of new campaign priorities

AC noted that all feedback will be included in a single document which will identify what the Officers should be working on next academic year. It will be published before the end of this academic year and will bring to the last meeting to be signed off. The new Officer team will come to the last meeting as part of their handover and be able to input into the final document. 5

Summary report on progress from each Officer

The Officers’ presented their objectives which were accepted by the Committee. 6

Summary report of student engagement against annual plan including SU on Tour

SB noted the SU on Tour has been slow this term. The Officers are attending the sessions but are not getting the same response. The University is doing modular evaluations so students are filling in lots of surveys. SU on Tour reports have been sent to Schools. The highlights have been sent to SU staff. 7

Honorary Life Membership proposal


There is a meeting on Friday 22nd February and the Officers will bring a set of criteria to the next meeting. 8

Announcements and Any Other Business

TP noted his girlfriend is considering standing in the elections. If she does, TP won’t be part of the elections process. OP noted a member of his society … wouldn’t associate with the Salvation Army is they are Trans phobic. SB noted she has had a discussion already. This is mainly associated with the Salvation Army in the USA. The UK Salvation Army is run differently. SB noted she contacted them to book the therapy dog as it is the quickest and easiest way. The SU is not in partnership with the Salvation Army. Action: SB to add to the agenda for Leadership Team Meeting. 9
