Previous Meeting

Our next meeting on 2 February 2021 will be Club Assembly which will include the club AGM deferred from December 2020. President (and President elect) Max needs to appoint his Board for the 2021-2022 Rotary year and the club membership needs to choose a President elect for the same year in order to become Club President in 2022-2023.

Our first meeting for 2021 was held on 19 January at the Inc Café. It was pleasing to see Honorary member Di Jackson and good to welcome Rosalien van Loon. We welcomed for the second time Kathy and Phil Holgate and for the first time, Graham Shreeve.

A number of other matters will be raised for discussion during Club Assembly including the offer of Honorary membership of the club to recently resigned long time former members.

President Max advised that the club board membership is now complete as published in the Bulletin of 19 January.

We have been approached by the City of Holdfast Bay to fund the installation of a Defibrillator at the BroadPlease take the opportunity to read President Max’s way Kiosk, Glenelg South. FoodBank Assistance On Monday 18 January, Pres Max, PP Bill, Barb and past member Bronwyn attended FoodBank on Cross Road to pack boxes of food for onward distribution by FoodsBank. This was done as a trial to see if it’s a possible ongoing community project for the club. Work was from 9.30am to 12.30pm. This hasn’t been brought to the club membership as yet but another trial is being planned for Monday 1 February before it is discussed at club level. If you would like to see what is involved and help on this task, please contact PP Bill on 0418 807 222.

RC Glenelg Film Night The Rotary Club of Glenelg is planning a Film night for Friday 9 April at the GU Cinema Glenelg. The movie will be the new James Bond one due to be released soon. They have booked the cinema and on the basis of selling all tickets, ticket cost will be $12.00. They have invited the RC Somerton park to participate and to keep all profits from tickets qwe sell and also to share in the raffle proceeds. Selling price for tickets will be $25.00. Put the date in your diary if you are interested.
