Future Meetings

Past Meetings

Our meeting program has been suspended officially until 21 April but realistically for a lot longer than that. I think. Stand by for further announcements in the near future. We are living in unusual and difficult times where the health of each and every one of us is important and remains a top priority. The age group of the majority of Rotarians is vulnerable to the effects of the COVID-19 virus and we all should be heeding the self quarantine messages as best we can. This Bulletin is simply a way of trying to keep in touch with members and passing on any useful information that comes my way.

At our last meeting on 3 March, we had as guest speaker, Emma Farquhar who was our sponsored participant sailing on the sailing ship “One and All” out of Port Adelaide over the weekend of 29 September to 3 October 2019. Emma is a Year 10 student at Brighton Secondary School and was accompanied by her mother Fiona. Both guests were introduced by PP Max Dalrymple in his role as Youth Activities Director of the club. Max stated that this Rotary Youth Sailing Program is one of the better ones as it tests both the physical and mental stamina of the participants and for the right people, it is a life changing experience. Emma totally agreed with this comment as she outlined her time aboard.

It was good to hear from PP Rob with his idea of us using an interactive computer program such as She sincerely thanked our club for giving her the opZoom or similar to keep in touch during the months portunity and also thanked the crew of 21 volunteers ahead. What are your thoughts on this? on the ship as well as the other young sailors. With very good wishes to all members, families and friends. Don and Pat

Cruising Today

Thought for the Month It was a quiet Monday morning in September 2053 when John awoke with a need to go to the toilet. To John, this wasn’t just any ordinary day. This was the day he would open the last package of toilet paper his parents bought in the year 2020.

Our cleaning lady phoned this morning and told us that she will be working from home and will send us instructions on what to do.

(Thanks to PP Max for the contribution)
