Previous Meeting 18 April At our meeting on 18 April, we heard from PP Peter Thompson on his life as a property auctioneer. Peter had been in the real estate business for many years and was a licensed auctioneer for a considerable time. Auctions are probably the fairest way of buying and selling as the auction itself creates the market by having a number of buyers competing against each other for the property. The seller, by naming a reserve price, is able to protect against price manipulation. Peter related a number of amusing incidents which happened during this part of his working life.

Important Diary Date Because President-elect Rob and Marianne will be away through most of June and July, our changeover function this year will be on Thursday 25 May, 6.30pm for 7.00pm at the Adelaide Sailing Club, Barcoo Road West Beach. This will be an informal function aimed at recognizing Rob as the incoming President for 20172018. There is no set dinner menu, with members, partners and guests ordering from the usual menu. For numbers, please RSVP to Rob ASAP
