President’s Paragraphs As this will be my last paragraph in the Bulletin as President I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members for my opportunity to be the leader of such a great club.

Changeover Lunch 3 July 2016 President Elect Mark advised details of the 2016 Changeover Lunch to be held at the Glenelg Golf Club on 3 July in his email of 23 May. The lunch is 12.00 for 12.30pm, cost is $48 per person, payable by cheque or by EFT into the Club Service Account, BSB 085 333, A/C 205083444. Please identify yourself when using EFT.

While the year evolved in a very different fashion to the way I envisioned that it would, it has been memorable for some quite different reasons. I would particularly like to thank all of our members for their various contributions and I have the greatest respect for people who find the time as volunteers to work towards a better world for everyone.

Mark has asked in his email that you hit the “Reply” button to give him an indication of who will be going, but please note that confirmation applies when payment is received.

I would also like to thank the Directors who worked towards representing the views of all of our members and made compromises for the benefit of the club. In particular I would like to thank Barb as Secretary and Brenton as Treasurer for their contribution to the year as I know that Rotary does not stop when you are in these roles

On Tuesday 14 June we will have the final Club Assembly for this Rotary year. For this reason, a summary of the minutes of the Board meeting held on 1 June is published in this Bulletin. Directors will try to tidy up matters under their control before 30 June.

Our partners have once again shown what a valuable part of the club they are and I would sincerely like to thank each and every one of them. I know Mark is well into his planning phase and I wish him and the Club the very best for 2016/17 Regards Mike

Future Meetings

On Tuesday 21 June we will have as Guest Speaker, Ralph Clarke, former State politician in the House of Assembly from 1993 to 2002. Ralph held the seat of Ross-Smith for the ALP and became Deputy Opposition Leader under Mike Rann. The seat of Ross-Smith was abolished during a redistribution ahead of the 2002 election and was mostly incorporated into Enfield. Ralph failed to be endorsed as the Enfield ALP candidate, stood as an Independent but the seat was won by John Rau for the ALP. Ralph became an elected member of the Adelaide City Council in 2007. On 28 June there will be the usual meeting at the Motel followed by the Changeover Lunch on 3 July. Please note there will be no meeting on Tuesday 5 July. 1

The Board approved $350 to be paid to CIO Cambodia for one student for next 6 months as requested by International Director Pam. On membership, Kerry Sutton is likely to transfer her membership to us early in the next Rotary year. The condition of our BBQ trailers was discussed and they are due for a safety inspection and possible upgrade. It was agreed that they not be used again until this inspection has been done. A decision is to be made whether to sell off one trailer. ► 3
