Lieutenant Governor’s Greeting Dear Members of Division Nine of the New York District Key Club, Happy Holidays! As the holiday season takes Key Club by storm so did service. I have some very exciting news to share. The New York District of Key Club International has reached its Service Hour Goal of 65,000 hours. This accomplishment will be celebrated at the annual Leadership Training Conference this upcoming March. More Information about LTC is in this newsletter! Our main focuses as a division for the rest of the service year are to increase attendance for the Leadership Training Conference, bring Key Clubs to new high schools, pay 100% of dues/increase membership, and SERVICE! Lets end this holiday season and service year like the ‘Brooklynites’ we are now. Yours In Service, Clifford Young Lieutenant Governor New York District of Key Club International cliffordyoung.ltg@nydkc.org

December Divisional Meeting Recap Divisional Meetings are hosted by Lt. Governor Clifford Young. All clubs meet up on a monthly basis to discuss past events (including service projects and fundraisers) and future activities. At these meetings, Key Clubbers within Division 9 have the opportunity to learn more about the international organization and about serving the community. Attending divisionals is a great way to become more involved in Key Club. The November Divisional Meeting was held online on December 18th, 2014. There were over 40 attendees at the divisional and it was very successful. Members learned everything from the Lieutenant Governor process and paperwork forms to LTC. If you missed this month’s divisional, be sure to come to the next!

Lieutenant Governor for the 2015-2016 Service Year (April 2015-March 2016) So You Want To Be Lieutenant Governor (LTG)? Well, you are in for the time of your life in this position. You will be meeting a variety of people across Brooklyn (Division 9), New York City & State, and the World. Here's a little breakdown of the job! •  "Each lieutenant governor is responsible for supporting and growing the clubs within his or her division and serving as a liaison between the district and the club. Duties include publication of a newsletter, club officer training and support, holding divisional meetings, serving on one or more district committees." •  In Divisions 9 and 10 of the New York District Key Club (NYDKC), we (Mr. Gioia and I) choose who will be the next LTG following the conclusion of an interview that will occur in Mid-January to Early February. Shortly after the interviews we will select the next Lieutenant Governor. I wish everyone who is signing up the best of luck! •

Service Spotlight: Toy Drive This December, we had a a toy drive. Members brought in brand new toys to donate to the drive. We donated them to Brooklyn Hospital who gave them to children who were affected by HIV; either they have the virus or someone in their family does. Brooklyn Hospital hosts an annual holiday party for these children and their families in which they give out presents to them. 2014-2015 Key Club Officers Edward R. Murrow High School Key Club

Service Spotlight: Santa Letters This year we wrote letters to Santa! We wrote because for every letter that Macy’s receives, they will donate $1 to the Make A Wish Foundation. This was a very fun thing to do because it took us back to our childhood and we were able to help a good cause. 2014-2015 Key Club Officers Edward R. Murrow High School Key Club

Service Spotlight: Union Square Green Market Rescue On December 20th, members volunteered at an event at Union Square. They loaded City Harvest trucks with food donated by farmers. It was then distributed to an emergency feeding program. This was a great event because many people were able to get food thanks to these feeding programs. 2014-2015 Key Club Officers Edward R.
