We got spirit yes we do! And we've got some service too! Hey Penguins! Your LTG, Alexa, here! The month of September and the early phases of October have been quite a whirlwind! It's been amazing to see all the service you've all been doing and to take part in some of that service! Shoutout to Cupertino Key Club for doing a great job at Rock and Roll San Jose! Also, shoutout to Fremont and Homestead for doing absolutely AMAZING at the Pancake Breakfast! Keep up the good work everyone! I've seen the letters and emails first hand, just know that the community really loves and appreciates every single one of you! In addition to Service, we also got to see a bit more of the Leadership aspect of Key Club at Region Training Conference! It was one of the highlights of my Key Club career and I hope all of you who were able to attend enjoyed the skits, workshops, and activities we planned out for you! It's gonna be a great month penguins. Everyone months a great month because you're all so great. That was cheesy but it's okay. That's all for now penguins! Awoo!

The Regions of 9 + 17 gather together at Camp Jones Gulch to attend various workshops like Service Projects, Running for Office, Fundraising and Key Club 101 to name a few. This conference not only lets you meet members from all over the region, but leaves you knowing so much more about Key Club and how to be a more effective officer, leader and member.

“RTC is a great way to meet new people and learn more about Key Club and the affects it has on others (like Project Eliminate and stuff). It's a really fun experience and I recommend all members to attend RTC sometime in their high school career! - Kaitlyn Layaoen, Homestead

“This RTC was my first and last and I couldn’t have wished for more. I honestly didn’t know what to expect because I had already attended Officer Training Conference, so how could it be any different? But it was. During the president’s workshop, it hit me that I only had 6 months left to leave the legacy I dreamed of. Just like a wake up call, my passion for serving my club was reignited. Not only did it leave me with an excitement for the bright future ahead, but also a bang to my senior year.” - Mary Zhen, Mountain View

TAKE A PEEK AT WHAT OUR DIVISION HAS BEEN UP TO!

PALO ALTO | SEPTEMBER 25

“The Moonlight Run has kind of been a tradition for clubs around Palo Alto. This year, we helped set up various stations along the route and cheered participants on with glow-sticks and pump-up music. It was a really fun experience, especially with the enthusiasm of both the participants and volunteers and one event I hope to do next year as well.” - Andrew Yin, Palo Alto

CUPERTINO | SEPTEMBER 26 “Although attending the Rock N Roll Marathon requires us to wake up early, it was well worth the loss of sleep. First, we were in charge of corralling the runners into different running speeds. After the participants began running, we decided to cheer on the youth runners at the finish line. We cheered on children from the age of 12 all the way down to the age of 3. Overall, the Rock N Roll Marathon was an amazing and fun event to take part in because we were given the opportunity to interact with toddlers and test my dancing prowess against the one, and only Kid Pip. - Aaron Wong, Cupertino
