Pumulani Luxury Beach Lodge, Robin Pope Safaris – Unwind in a beautiful and tranquil setting on the Nankumba Peninsula Pumulani Luxury Beach Lodge is situated on the south end of Lake Malawi – romantically named "The Lake of Stars". The lodge is subtly nestled in lush hills, among trees and craggy outcrops. The Nankumba Peninsula is recognized as one of the most beautiful shores of the lake and borders Lake Malawi National Park, which was established to protect the area’s cichlid fish. In 1984, the park became a World Heritage-listed site. The lodge is built on a steep hillside that provides spectacular views from the villas, dining area and main lodge. The central area consists of a spacious open restaurant with a covered section, bar and a cozy fire-pit. The infinity pool is on a lower terraced deck. The ten villas are individual in shape and style, but each has a spacious bedroom, bathroom and extensive sitting area. Simply relax amid the tranquil scenery or enjoy the many activities on offer, including snorkeling, kayaking, water-skiing, fun-tubing, wake-boarding, sailing, fishing and diving. Map ref: 77

Coasts and Lakes

Scuba dive among jewel-like reefs. Go kayaking or wake-boarding. Photograph exotic wildlife. At day’s end, savor a gourmet meal at an idyllic retreat. Lake Malawi is a World Heritage-listed site and home to the largest number of fish species of any lake in the world. The glitteringly clear water also draws a variety of bird species, as well as hippos, warthogs, baboons and elephants. Whether it's diving, snorkeling, kayaking or chilling out on one of its desert islands that entices you, a visit is a "must-do".

Kaya Mawa – With an often super-natural vibe It can be said that there is nowhere else on earth like Kaya Mawa, where you’ll transcend into a world of simple pleasures, tended to by enchanting Malawians, yet all the while luxuriating in sophisticated modern conveniences. Translated as "Maybe Tomorrow" in the local dialect, Kaya Mawa is discreetly located on Likoma Island in Lake Malawi. Every room at Kaya Mawa features something a little bit unique and something very special. Peaceful decks for sunbathing and romantic dinners, secluded chalets with private al fresco lounges, lake entrances and outdoors baths and showers, some even have a plunge pool; one, its very own island. While relaxing is high on the agenda at Kaya Mawa, your day can be as full as you wish. A PADI dive school, kitesurfing center, quad bikes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards are among the host of activities available. After a busy day, or not, drift off with a massage in the spa set on a rock surrounded by peaceful waters. Map ref: 78
