UPCOMING NOTES:

What are you reading this summer?! How are you staying current with children’s and young adult literature this summer? K-12 students aren’t the only ones who should be reading in the summer, their teachers (and future teachers) should be reading too. What better way to strike up a conversation and build a reading culture in the classroom by starting a conversation with students by asking, “Have you read the latest Rick Riordan book, yet?” So, how do you know what the fresh, new titles are for elementary, middle, and high school students?

ISSUE #14: SUMMER 2014

IDEAS Room Tech Update AURASMA Starting in June, come in and take a look at our new Aurasma inspired bulletin board. The bulletin board will explain how to download the app. Aurasama gives you the tools to create your own Auras, videos, OR find Auras that describe the content of books, magazines, and newspapers. Creating your own Auras is simple. Using the app, you can bring images, objects, and physical locations to life using interactive digital content like video, animations, and 3D scenes. You can choose digital content for your Auras from Aurasma’s thousands of digital animations and/or your own photos and videos. That’s not all! Seek out the ‘A’ logo in books, newspapers, and magazines. If you find it, search the app for the Aura that tells you more about that piece of literature’s content. App Corner The app of the month is Evernote! Evernote is easy to use and best of all it’s free. The app can be downloaded on iPad, computer, and phone. Creating an account allows you to save and access your work on multiple devices. Evernote aids the user in staying organized, takings notes & photos, creating to-do lists, recording voice reminders, and much more.
