summer, after you graduate? Leveraging web 2.0 tools in order to create a professional learning network is an integral 21st Century Skill that all professionals need to consider-especially educators. What tools and resources can you turn to in order to continue your professional growth? Pinterest, Twitter, Diigo, Facebook, the list goes on. Which tool you select is a personal preference, but one that seems to be left behind is YouTube. More often than not when YouTube is mentioned in a conversation it is about a cute cat stunt, or the latest new talent. But have you considered harnessing this web 2.0 tool for professional learning? The IDEAS Room recently started a YouTube channel in which we will publish only professional learning content for the faculty and students in the College of Education. However, we are not the only professional learning channel on out there. Continue reading our newsletter to learn about other YouTube channels that go beyond cute puppies and pranks and can be used to increase your knowledge of professional practices. In case you missed it in March…

Recap from GAGA for Web Bookmarking: *also see tutorials of these tech tools on our YouTube Channel

As described by eduClipper on Google Apps Marketplace, eduClipper is a social platform that equips teachers and students with powerful tools for the collection, creation, and display of content. We expand the universe of resources available to teachers and improve the tracking and analysis of individual progress through personal, shareable portfolios. By adding eduClipper through the Google Apps Marketplace, school and district administrators can create accounts and enable single sign-on for eduClipper for all of their teachers and students. According to Jill Duffy’s article in PC Magazine,

PROS: Interesting way to explore the Web visually based on interests. It lets you save or share images easily. Free.

CONS: Difficult to navigate at times. Google Chrome browser not well supported. By-invitation only. Some areas of interest are not well populated with content.

BOTTOM LINE: Pinterest gives Internet users another way to discover and explore visual content. The virtual pinboard concept has been tried before, and Pinterest executes the idea fairly well. Description from: http://www.pcmag.com/article.
