ast Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia is one of totally 33 provinces in Indonesia. Although it is so far from the central government of Republic of Indonesia, the province is very familiar among people of the world. The term is because of its two world wonders. One is its rare animal “komodo” in West Manggarai and the other one is three colors lake “Kelimutu” in Ende, Flores Island. The two wonders makes Indonesia become famous for international tourism after Bali. Most people of the world even recognize Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara province because of its world wonders. Thousands home and foreign tourists have visited the two locations. In accordance with the two strategic tourist objects that the Indonesian government points them become National Park. Komodo has been officially pointed to be the National Park since March 6th, 1980 authenticated by the President of Indonesia, Mr. Suharto. Since the date, Komodo has been pointed to be biosphere conservation and a world heritage site in 1991. Komodo area is approximated 173.300 hectares, consists of 40.728 hectares land area and 32.572 hectares coastal waters. There are three islands belong to Komodo Na-

tional Park area, namely; komodo island (33,937 hectares), Rinca island (19.625 hectares), and Padar isaland (2.017

hectares). Komodo National Park area is located in 737 m altitude. Komodo (Veranus Comodoensis) lived in Komodo National Park is now nominated in the seventh of new world wonders. All Indonesian people in this case, fully support that it is one of them by site www.new7wonder.com after Amazon (Brazil), Puerta Princesa (Philippines), Dinosaur Provincial Park (Kanada), Sundarbans Forest, and National Parks in Africa such as; Eua National Park (Tonga) and Okavango (Africa). According report of Komodo National Park Board (BTNK), that ancient animals presumed as human twin about 1.500 live in Rinca Island and other 1.500 live in Komodo and Gili Motang islands. elimutu National Park (TNK) is 5356.50 hectares wide located in 60 km in the northeast of Ende city or between 8º48’21” 8º48’24” southern latitude and 121º44’21”eastern longitude in south-eastern part of Flores Island. Administratively, it belongs to the local government territory of Ende regency, East Nusa Tanggara province. Wonderful natural scenery is the only natural phenomena of the world, that is, threecrater lakes in which always change their color. It was naturally shaped by geological activity of Kelimutu mount, 1.690 m high. Kelimutu has naturally stable tropical climate with its raindrop intensity between 1.651 to 3.363 mm per year in which wet season is on December to March and the driest one is on October to November, temperature is between 25.5º to 31º C and the lowest one is 11.6º C on July and August. In rainy season, all plants grow well and in dry season, most of them get fall. Geographically, it positively affects the existed flora and fauna.

The enrichment of specific flora and fauna is preserved in wallacea zone, such as; Ampupu (eucalyptus delgupta), E. Urophyla, and also kinds of fichus and mountainous casuarinas (casuarinas junghuhniana) dominantly grow in the valleys of the crater. articipants of the International Sail Rally; Sail Indonesia participants scheduled to visit East Nusa Tenggara on September 5th to 20th, 2009 through Nanganio beach, Ende regency,. There, they would be officially wel-

come dinner by the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara, Frans Lebu Raya and the Regent of Ende, Don Wangge. From Ende, they will visit Nagekeo regency, Labuan Bajo-West Manggarai. Since being in Ende on

September 5th to 9th, 2009, hundreds participants of Sail Indonesia from tens different countries scheduled to visit number of tourist objects, such as; three-color lake “Kelimutu”, Wolofeo-Wolowaru traditional villages, Bung Karno site, Agro-tourism-Waturaka, hot spring pool-Oka, schools and handcra center. Last January 2008, tight weaving cloth-Hinggi, 50.10 m long and embroidered sarong, Lau Pahikung, 24 m long were exhibited around from the center town of Waingapu to East Sumba Regent’s (the late Ir. Umbu Mehang Kunda) residence. The exhibition was geĴing appreciation and waves of Sumbanese people.

he longest tight weaving cloth and embroidered sarong were bestowed by their designers to the Regent to represent the government, then to name it. Surrender officially performed by Wunang, the spokesman of Sumbanese community to the local government in native language. Traditional ceremony was officially started by slaughtering buffalo held in front of the Regent’s house of East Sumba. The former Regent’s wife of East Sumba, Mrs. Sylvia Anggraeni, the Head of Dekrasnada of East Sumba (National Art and Handcraft Board) was the initiator to design the longest tight weaving cloth and embroidered sarong in the world. They were named “Hinggi Humba Anda Ukurungu” for tight weaving cloth and “Lau Pakihung Maranongu” for embroidered sarong. It was initiated to introduce enrichment of Sumbanese customs to the world. resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opened Indonesia Creative Week 2009 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) here on Friday morning.Various activities such as creative products exhibition, seminar, workshop, training, consultation on intellectual property rights, and other aspects related to creative products were also held during the event. In his opening address, President Yudhoyono said all parties should not depend only on the three pillars of conventional economy for the national economic power. “The future of our economy should not merely rely on agriculture, natural resources, industry, and conventional services, although they are the backbone of our national economy, but the creative economy and tourism economy should be stepped up as well,” the president said. “I say two things that need our serious attention are creative economy and tourism-related economy. We have to rely on them because I want tourism-related economic contribution to our gross domestic product (GDP) even greater,” he added. According to the head of state, the creative economy that has to be developed were related with cultural heritage and technology, because according to a report from trade minister, they have a big contribution to national economy. The president said the development of creative industry such as arts, films, graphic designs, should be preserved and maintained for the national economic growth. “Of course all of them have economic significance. Arts, history, cultural heritage, and the others have economic significance because they are part of our national identity and therefore we have to develop and preserve,” the president said. Referring to the development of national identity, the head of state said all national elements should use logic, ethic, and aesthetic.
