Hello everyone and welcome along to the Domain for a full afternoon of football. For the first time this season we have all three senior mens’ teams at home on Saturday, so the place is likely to be heaving. It’s been a long time coming football has, indeed, come home. Welcome to Taupo, Melville United and Waihi. All three matches will be tough ones for our teams. In the Premiership, we always seem to battle against Taupo. We’ve had our moments at times this season and, with a more consistent line-up of late, hopefully we can give our visitors a good run. Melville Nobs sit top of Waikato Division 1, so will be a massive test for our ressies, while Waihi had a big win in the reverse fixture against the 3rds. So we’re looking at three really decent games of football today. Given all the youngsters playing for the club this year we have decided to enter the Napier U19 tournament. This is the first time since 2016 we’ve entered this tournament - it’s great we currently have the depth to offer this as an option for our players. The U19s is always a great way to end the season and is a special experience for the players and coaching staff who take part. At the international level, we’ll be moving quickly on from the Euros as New Zealand’s teams are set to attack the Olympics. Given the nature of the competition, both our men’s and women’s teams should have a good chance of doing well. Fingers crossed for some success at this level. The Euros were a good watch, regardless of who you were supporting. Plenty of plot twists and hard luck stories and good, all round entertainment...especially if you managed to stay away from all the social media rubbish that surrounds any event of scale these days. Thankfully there isn’t too much social media rubbish associated with local football. Hopefully everyone enjoys today’s games. I’ll see you on the sidelines. Dwayne Barlow, Club Mouthpiece

Junior Opportunity - Shirt Sponsorship Investment: $500 + GST. We have full sets of shirts, in the club’s new Nike style, on order now for ALL our junior 8th to 12th grade teams. We expect them to be available and in use by mid-June. With this comes a unique opportunity to get the logo of your business, or the business you work for, placed on the front of the shirts of your child’s team. This is a one-off investment that lasts for the life of the shirts (usually 3-4 seasons). All funds raised through this scheme will be re-invested in the club’s junior programme.
