Hello everyone and welcome along to the Domain for the fifth of five consecutive WaiBOP Premiership home games. It’s been quite a run and a nice routine to get into after spending so much time on the road earlier in the season. We - hopefully - welcome Tauranga City to the Domain today for what looks like a crucial game at our end of the table. It makes for a long season when you’re in the bottom half, but it was still a bit of a shock to see a club the size of Tauranga default their Premiership game last weekend. And here I was thinking we were having problems with injuries. We’ve also marked out the number 2 field - well done to our 3rd team players - so will have two games at the Domain on a Saturday for the first time this season. It’s no secret the Domain’s been in pretty rugged condition this year and, while it’s soaked through now after all the recent rain, hopefully we’ll soon be able to look at bringing all our home games back home from the college. Facilities for football are a major issue in town at the moment. My hope is the pain we’ve all experienced this year will motivate a few more of our club members to help us find solutions. I know Rob and Kyle have made it their mission to get the new lights sorted at the Domain as soon as possible and things are already moving on that front. We’ve had several false dawns with the new lights...so it’ll be great to see some tangible progress on that front. We’re also ready to go with regards to sorting the surfaces at the Domain. Pretty much as soon as our final home game is played this season we’ll have the machinery moving in and the work getting underway. It’s just a shame we have to take on all the organisation - and cost ourselves... So, there is light at the end of the tunnel Hopefully everyone enjoys today’s games. I’ll see you on the sidelines.
