After several years of being exposed to the harsh weather conditions that Florida is known for, the boardwalk located off Arbor Run Dr. that leads to Benito Middle School has been completely restored. There were several areas of normal wear and tear, and unfortunately acts of vandalism were cause for a safety evaluation. With the renovations of the boardwalk, it not only looks beautiful, but is also safe for pedestrians to enjoy a leisurely stroll, or make their way to and from school (please supervise young children). We encourage you to enjoy this wonderful amenity as there is lush vegetation, many varieties of wildlife and ponding during the summer months. There is also a small boardwalk on the south side of the Community Center for your use with the same beautiful nature viewing opportunities. As mentioned previously, there were acts of vandalism (destruction, painting, trash, etc.) that unfortunately occurred on the boardwalk. We ask that you do your part to help preserve this resource by abstaining from littering, loitering, and/or vandalizing the property. If you see something, say something by reporting it to the Community Center by calling (813) 991-9226 ext. 3. Any suspicious activity, suspected vandalism, or knowledge of any past criminal activity, should be reported as soon as possible to the “Non-Emergency” TPD at (813) 2316130. Please enjoy what this beautiful community has to offer and help preserve it for years to come.

Hello Arbor Greene Neighbors, Last month’s Homeowner’s Association (HOA) article touched on leases, “Super Inspection,” and water restrictions. This month we’ll cover trash and recycling schedules, the HOA website, and an HOA management review. Arbor Greene household trash days are Monday and Thursday. Recycling collection is Monday, and yard waste is Thursday. There is no collection on Federal holidays and no make-up days; pick up resumes on the next normally scheduled collection day. Trash, recycling, and yard waste should be placed on the end of your driveway, after 6pm the night before, and must be removed by sunset, the day of pick up. Trash and recycling must fit within their bins or it will not be collected. Trash and recycling bins, and yard waste must be stored out of view from the road until the designated collection days and times. Failure to follow these rules and covenants can result in no pick up for that day as well as possible HOA violations. Residents should call Republic Services at 813-265 -0292 or Hillsborough County Public Works at 813-272-5680 to report problems, delayed or missed pick ups. The HOA website www.arborgreenehoa.com has been online for 1 year and has become our community’s best source for HOA information. From latest HOA news, to covenants and online Design Review Board applications, the HOA website provides a password-free consolidated information source for new and longtime residents. Take a tour of the HOA website and learn important facts about our community. The HOA appreciates all types of feedback, and has been reviewing management operations while focusing on resident complaints and concerns. The HOA board is considering numerous options to improve these operations. Future updates will be posted to the HOA website and in monthly articles. Thank you for your feedback.

As you have noticed our landscape project is in full swing! Hopefully you have had a chance to see some of the finished units, they have turned out wonderfully. While we have had some delays, we are confident that we are still on track to have the projected completed successfully. As we move forward as a community, it is important to make sure that you are keeping your property in compliance with the HOA covenants. Please note that landscape rocks of any kind are not allowed on the property. Also, unless you have a signed ARC approval, all masonry must be removed. ASG has done a great job of placing that near the garage door for each homeowner, but those are not to be reinstalled. We have had some great turnouts at the HOA meetings and encourage you to join us for our August meeting. The more involvement we have from Homeowners, the better our community will be. Also if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Condominium Associates. Thank you for all that you do to make the Carriage Homes a wonderful place to live. Sincerely, Carriage Homes Board of Directors

Neighborhood Watch Back-to-School Safety and Security Tips Hello Arbor Greene (AG) Neighbors. Last month’s article discussed tips to keep our community safe in the summer. This month, we’re focusing on school related tips as many students begin school in early August. Back-to-school shopping tips: When shopping, only take items you need, including your phone, but don’t let it distract you. Keep your purse or wallet secure; don’t bring too many credit cards. Use an ATM that is indoors or in a public, well-lit location. If you’re traveling from store to store, place purchases in your vehicle’s trunk. Park close to store entrances, in well-lit areas, and observe anyone near you in parking lots. If you see suspicious activity while shopping, e.g., a person continually watching or following you, immediately notify store security or the police. School related security tips: Remind children to be aware of their surroundings and to not let their activities, including texting, completely distract them. Children’s lack of awareness may make them an easier target for criminals, or being injured by drivers of vehicles who may not see them. Tell children to never to talk to, or accept rides or gifts from strangers. If there is someone suspicious near a bus stop, your child should tell a trusted adult or school personnel, and follow school procedures. Make sure children’s phones are fully charged, they know your phone numbers and home address, and how to call 9-1-1 in emergencies. For more related tips, including bus and walking safety, preventing bullying, etc., go to the National Safety Council website at: http:// www.nsc.org/safety_home/SafetyObservances/Pages/ BackToSchoolSafety.aspx To report suspicious activity, immediately call Tampa Police Department’s (TPD) Suspicious Activity/Non-Emergency line (813231-6130). If a crime is about to occur or has been committed, immediately dial 9-1-1. Always call from a safe location and do not confront suspicious person(s). If you would like to receive more safety and security tips, please email us at ArborGreene-NWA@hotmail.com. Joining the group does not obligate you to any NHW activity. NHW (formerly known as NWA) is an all-volunteer run program overseen by the TPD. Paul & Hally Boucher Neighborhood Watch (NHW) Coordinators
