Arbor Greene Street Cleanliness and Hillsborough County/Republic Services Solid Waste Services The Arbor Greene CDD Board of Supervisors have become more involved with Hillsborough County and Republic Services regarding the missed pickup of waste (trash, recycle, or yard debris) and debris left in the road as we want to try and help resolve these issues our community is experiencing in a timely manner. This waste services contract is held and managed by Hillsborough County and the CDD has met with them and Republic Services management teams on property to try and collectively put an end to these frequent issues. The CDD maintenance staff will be monitoring the services, but there are a couple steps that we are going to rely on you, the resident, to help resolve these incidents. Please contact the Arbor Greene CDD so that we can respond directly to the Hillsborough County Contract Manager for a more formal and efficient follow up to the situation. Please e-mail jasonv@arborgreene.com, or call 813-991-9226 (ext. 7) if you have a missed service, damaged receptacle, debris left behind, or just receive poor service. Also, reach out to the County at (813) 272-5680, as there are options that will typically lead you to Republic Services, but if you press “0” it will take you to a county representative that will log the issue and contact Republic Services for a timely resolve. Another reliable source of information is through the Hillsborough County website https:// hillsboroughcounty.org where you can search “solid waste services.” The CDD Board of Supervisors are optimistic that our voices will be heard and thank you in advance for helping keep our community beautiful!!

UPS Golf Cart Deliveries UPS will have seasonal golf cart helpers delivering packages throughout the community beginning as early as November 1st. These golf cart deliveries keep the larger vehicles out of our community for improved safety, will have all deliveries completed before sundown, and are "going green" by not leaving a carbon footprint as these deliveries are made. All packages for our neighborhood will be consolidated to a specific location each morning, then delivered by helpers on golf carts throughout the day. Helpers will usually deliver packages between the non-peak traffic times of 11am-4pm. All helpers will wear a company issued uniform and the cart/trailer will have a UPS logo/identification on them. Please be mindful of these carts as they will more than likely be traveling under the posted speed limit.

Dear Neighbors, On September 6, 2018, the Board of Directors of the Arbor Greene of New Tampa Homeowners Association (HOA) held a public workshop to discuss possible rental restrictions, as well as the annual budget for calendar year 2019 and the HOA’s annual assessment. The current HOA annual assessment is $140, and most members of the HOA Board of Directors are looking for ways to reduce that figure for homeowners. The annual budget is the focus of the board’s respective monthly meetings in September and October 2018. Remember, the final say on any proposed rental restrictions will rest with a supermajority of voting homeowners (i.e., 75% or more) whereas the final say on the annual budget and assessment rests with the HOA Board of Directors. On September 12, 2018, the HOA’s Design Review Board (DRB) held its third public workshop of the year, open to all homeowners in the Arbor Greene community. The DRB will continue in its comprehensive review of landscaping and design standards, as well as other relevant community standards. In due course, the DRB will make its recommendations to the HOA Board of Directors. Sunny Wen of the Estuary village has been appointed to the DRB. We thank her for her willingness to volunteer her time to the DRB and to the Arbor Greene community. Homeowners are reminded that they are responsible for cleaning driveways and sidewalks adjacent to their respective properties. A tidy appearance of the exterior of a home is expected and should be maintained. Aside from general maintenance of the exterior, prior to any major exterior project, including, for example, the repainting of the home’s exterior, changing any exterior color of the home, replacing the mailbox or roof, changing the landscape design, making any architectural modification, etc., a DRB application must be submitted, in addition to whatever else may be required, e.g., City of Tampa permit and/or CDD approval, etc.; and a Notice of Completion (NOC) must be submitted to the DRB for review and approval once the exterior project has been completed. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Neighborhood Watch TPD National Night Out The Tampa Police Department will hold its National Night Out on October 23, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Benito Field, adjacent to Benito Middle School. National Night Out is a community building event, often police-sponsored, but depending greatly on the community served. It is held in most of the country on the first Tuesday in August, but because of the hot weather, Texas and Florida hold theirs in October. See more at https://natw.org/about. The TPD will have some of its specialty units - K-9, SWAT, Mounted, Marine and possibly Aviation - present, and as much as possible, they will provide demonstrations. In addition, players from the Tampa Bay Rowdies will be present as well as a book bus. Look for more information as we get closer to the date. Halloween will be here before we know it. NWA will send an email blast with safety tips later in the month. To subscribe, send an email request to: ArborGreeneNWA@gmail.com Karen Usherwood - Neighborhood Watch (NWA) Coordinator *The views and opinions expressed in this article are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the Arbor Greene CDD.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Below are a few commonly asked questions concerning stormwater.

What are the effects of storm water runoff? Stormwater runoff is the transport vehicle for pollutants. Any dirt, oil, grease, fertilizer or other pollutants on the ground can be picked up by stormwater runoff and carried into the storm drains, lakes and rivers. These pollutants may include nutrients which provide food for unwanted aquatic plants like hydrilla and algae. Excessive alage growth can lead to decreased oxygen in the water that fish need to breathe, resulting in fish kills. Bacteria and other pathogens from pet waste can create serious health hazards in ponds and lakes. What is illicit or illegal discharge? Any substance released into the separate storm water drainage system that is not composed entirely of stormwater or uncontaminated groundwater. Examples of illicit discharges include dumping or motor vehicle fluids, household hazardous waster, paint, pool water, grass clippings, leaf litter or animal waste. What should I do if I see an illicit or illegal discharge that could affect our Stormwater Management System? Please contact the Hillsborough county Stormwater Emergency Operations Center (813) 272-5912, or (813) 272-6900, City of Tampa Stormwater Division - Illicit/Illegal Discharge (813) 2743101, or the Arbor Greene CDD Community Manager (813) 9919226 ext. 7.
