During the month of November we are reminded to give thanks for the many blessings, including family and friends in our lives, and for a fruitful year. The Arbor Greene CDD would like to thank those who have dedicated their time, effort, and resources in creating a community full of life, beauty and continued excellence. From the employees that serve the community, homeowners that take pride in their properties, to the volunteers that help assist with many of the community activities, we say Thank You!! A great way to help give back to your community is through volunteering. Arbor Greene has many opportunities for Middle and High-School students that live within Arbor Greene and are in need of volunteer hours to meet certain scholarship requirements. If you are interested in potential volunteer opportunities, please e-mail Liza Pereira and include your name, phone number, and school that you are attending, so that we may add you to a contact list for when these opportunities become available. Volunteering is not just limited to students, as all Arbor Greene residents are encouraged to become involved in their community and provide a fun and welcoming experien ce for all. Again, please e-mail liza.pereira@arborgreene.com if interested. Safety Notice: Many residents have brought to our attention their concerns of parents/guardians dropping off children in the middle of the road, or waiting to pick up children while parking on the street. Please be mindful when taking your children to school and either drop them off/pick them up at the actual school, in a safe area such as the community center parking lot, or the gazebo near Benito Middle School on Arbor Run Dr. Also, use extreme caution at crosswalks, intersections, or while leaving Arbor Greene and turning onto Cross Creek. Thank you for being mindful of your personal safety and for the safety of those around you. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!!! Arbor Greene CDD

“Responsibility and Respect” Hello from the Arbor Greene Homeowner’s Association (HOA). This month we’ll cover some responsibilities regarding our smaller family members; our pets. These responsibilities are referenced in HOA Covenants, and Tampa City Municipal and Hillsborough County Codes. Most residents of HOA communities moved into their homes with the understanding that their community was Deed-Restricted. HOA DeedRestrictions are rules, i.e., Covenants, put in place specifically to help maintain homeowner and community property values. These rules are not arbitrary, and most are based on law. Some of these rules are obvious, while others may seem petty, but all are necessary to achieve the intent of a Deed-Restricted community. This article contains some excerpts of rules that govern our responsibilities for pets and are based specifically on resident’s complaints and questions received by the HOA. Arbor Greene Covenants allow for up to 2 dogs per household. Dogs, and cats, are not allowed to run free unless contained in private property enclosures like fences; otherwise they must be leashed and clearly controlled. Owners of a cat or dog must remove all forms of excrement from any property other than their own, unless expressly permitted by the property owner. Respecting other residents’ property also means not using their property as our animal’s toilet without the owner’s permission. No resident should ever expect to find any form of animal waste deposited on their property willfully, or neglectfully, by another neighbor’s animal. Respecting the rules, laws, and our neighbors’ property, is all our responsibility and helps keep our Deed-Restricted community a better place to live. For questions or clarification, please review Arbor Greene Covenants on the HOA website at www.arborgreenehoa.com along with Tampa Municipal and County Codes. Thank you for making our community one of the best in New Tampa. Paul Boucher, HOA Board President

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our residents from the Devonshire Board of Directors! Thanksgiving is a special Holiday where we can give thanks for all that we have and especially for our health, family, and friends. Even though the past year may have brought sadness, worry, and perhaps loss, we may think we do not have a lot to be thankful for. But if we just take a few moments to think about things, we can find some good things to focus on and take this focus into the Thanksgiving Holiday. It is a time for roast turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie, and also a time when we can all get together to share that special meal, visit friends, watch some football (for all of the football fans), and eat too much! And even better, we can do all of this without having to worry about getting a gift for someone, running around trying to do that last minute shopping, and just being a bit crazy. As President of the Devonshire Board of Directors, I am thankful for all of the support from the Board members as well as all of the residents who make that little extra effort to also support the community by being watchful and aware of our surroundings, and letting us know when something needs attention. An African proverb says that “it takes a village to raise a child”. In Devonshire, I say that “it takes our residents to keep our Village the beautiful and safe place that it has always been”. Happy Thanksgiving! Nicholas (Nick) D'Andrea, Jr. Board President ARBOR GREENE GAZETTE

Before covering this month’s topic, we want to thank the AG residents who participated in the Tampa Police Department’s (TPD) National Night Out and TPD Memorial Run/Walk. Both events were successful, with free food and giveaways. Chief of Police Eric Ward appeared at both events, and Mayor Buckhorn attended the Run/Walk in support of the families of fallen TPD officers. Without your support, these events would not have been so successful and benefit those in need. Next, we’ll briefly cover holiday shopping security tips. For your shopping trip, you should only take items that you will need, including your phone. Don’t bring too many credit cards and consider only bringing necessary cash. If you must withdraw cash from an ATM, use an ATM in a public, welllit location, preferably indoors. Pay attention to your surroundings while securing your purse or wallet, and don’t let your phone distract you. Try to park close to store entrances, in well-lit areas, and be observant of anyone near you in parking lots. If you’re traveling from store to store, consider placing purchases in your vehicle’s trunk. If you observe suspicious activity while shopping, like someone continually watching or following you, immediately notify store security or the police. You should immediately call TPD’s Non-Emergency number (813-231-6130) to report suspicious activity or person(s). If you think a crime is about to occur or has been committed, then immediately dial 9-1-1. Always call the TPD from a safe location and do not confront the suspicious person(s). If you would like to receive more TPD security tips, please email us at ArborGreene-NWA@hotmail.com. Joining the group does not obligate you to any NWA activity. NWA is an all-volunteer run program overseen by the TPD. Thank you for making AG one of the nicest and safest communities in New Tampa!
