Revamped Zee to focus on women

he channel foresees the brand positioning as a celebration and co-relation with the constant change that society has seen in women's lives. "We believe the time is right to infuse into the brand and reflect an identity that truly articulates our spirit. The new positioning is about a celebration and vindication of woman's emerging beliefs and a reflection of her hopes, dreams and optimism. This essence is very well captured in the line, 'Umeed Se Saje Zindagi'," said Punit Goenka, managing director and CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. "Our primary audience is undoubtedly women and the new shows will also focus on them. We intend to bring some young stories which cater to the youth and the young girls of today," said Goenka. The revamping of Zee TV logo has been done by the in house team of the channel, while advertising agency Draftfcb Ulka is the creative agency. Explaining the new logo, Goenka said:

"The new aqua blue colour logo signifies the upward movement of desires and wishes. The unshackling of the 'Z' from the box symbolizes today's women's zest for life and confidence to go out in the world beyond her home. "The overall design has a progressive feel and reflects the idea of looking into the future. The rainbow of hope is a very important element of the new packaging. It is ethereal and symbolically emphasizes the promise of 'Umeed Se Saje Zindagi' celebrating hope and life," he added. Zee TV has also worked on the restructuring of its programming and content to replenish the channel in a new way. The channel is going to offer its viewers new shows like " Shobha Somnath Ki" and " Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein" and also reality show " India Ke Jaanbaaz", with real heroes that will make the common man a superstar.

fter the success of "Jhansi Ki Rani", Zee TV is bringing another story of love, sacrifice and valour with their new show "Shobha Somnath Ki." The show is based on a Gujarati legend which talks about Shobha, who fought fearlessly when Afghan invader Mahmud of Ghazni tried to destroy the Somnath temple in the 11th century. "I had met the writer-director of the show Vikas Kapoor about three years back. He had narrated me the story that time and it left a lasting impression on me. After the success of 'Jhansi Ki Rani', we were planning to make another show," Sukesh Motwane, programming head, Zee TV said. "We wanted to make a fairy tale with all the elements of valour, romance, poetry, adventure, bravery, and fight for cultural identity, among others, and this story has it all," he added. It took Motwane a year to shape up his plans. "It took us a year to conceptualise the story. It has been a difficult journey. 'Jhansiâ&#x20AC;Ś' worked for us, so we are very lucky. It was far more recent story and a lot of material was available for you to fall back on. But there were very few references for this show. "During our research, we got books, tried talking to historians and understand what kind

In case you think that Vinay Pathak and Kay Kay Menon set the screen on fire with their wit and repartee, much like Rajat Kapoor and Vinay in its sequel, you are bound to be disappointed. In 'Bheja Fry 2', there is less humor and not many belly laughs. Even as 'Bheja Fry 2' looks over stretched and predictable, Vinay Pathak holds the fort and immortalizes Bharat Bhusan with his nerdy, sweet, yet super annoying act. He is the biggest fool you will ever come across. Oblivious to all the disdain, Bharat is eager to show his antics to one and all. Nevertheless, Vinay's Bharat act is all endearing. Apart from Vinay and Kay Kay, there is hardly any other actor, who gets to utilize his talents on the silver screen. Minissha Lamba is just an eye-candy and Suresh Menon is truly wasted. However, 'Bheja Fry 2' becomes all the more chaotic with Raghu Burman's (Amole Gupte) madcap RD Burman fan act. Overall, a fun film to watch with your family and friends!

hen I look back on my life, it's not the fame that stands out, it's the people I've met along the way and the nurturing relationships I've had that steal the spotlight. Growing up, I didn't have wealthy parents with powerful connections. But what I did have was a stable, loving home where my parents doted on their children and on each other. And then, stardom happened. The sensitive, football-loving young man suddenly became a phenomenon that even he couldn't fathom. Relationships with my childhood friends and family became even more valuable because they kept me grounded in a new world where money flowed and strangers came up to me to say that they loved me. The film industry transformed my looks - the skinny, aspiring model morphed into what others perceived as a 'muscular hunk' - but it did not change my heart or my character. While I'm not the type to talk publicly about private matters, I will share a bit about what I've gone through the past year. Last year, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. While I smiled for the cameras and attended industry events, inside I was wracked by anxiety and concern for my family's well-being. In the past, when I experienced personal betrayals and career setbacks, I somehow still felt in control. I felt I could overcome the challenges even if it pained me to go through them. MANGO MARGARITA

INGREDIENTS

A refreshing mango drink

• Mango , slightly under ripe, peeled, thinly sliced900 grams • Sugar 900 grams • Garlic, chopped 1-2 cloves • Ginger, chopped 1/2 inch piece • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon • Vinegar 1/4 teaspoon • Salt to taste

INGREDIENTS • Mangoes, peeled and cut into pieces4 small • Mango squash 1 cup • Ice cubes as required • Lemon juice 3 tablespoons • Salt as required

SWEET MANGO CHUTNEY

METHOD Put the mango pieces in a blender and blend for a minute.Add mango squash, ice cubes, two tablespoons lemon juice and blend it again for two to three minutes. Apply the remaining lemon juice to the rims of glasses and dip the rims in a plate of salt and remove. Pour the margarita into the glasses and serve immediately.

Heat the mango slices in a pan with small amount of water to make them soft. Add the sugar and mix well. Tie garlic, ginger, red chilli powder and garam masala powder loosely in a muslin cloth and place in the pan. Mix well and cook, on medium heat, till it reaches a jam consistency. Add vinegar, salt and cook for five minutes. Remove the spice bag, cool and store the chutney in sterilised glass bottles.

MANGO KULFI Refreshing kulfi made from mangoes INGREDIENTS Alphonso mangoes, halved 4 Milk 1 litre Khoya/mawa, grated 5-6 tablespoons Condensed milk 1/2 cup Sugar 1/4 cup

Share a recipe! METHOD Scoop the flesh out of the mangoes and puree. Boil the milk and reduce it. Add khoya and mix well. Add the condensed milk, sugar and mix well. Simmer the mixture for fifteen minutes or till it thickens. Cool and add the mango puree and mix well. Pour into mango shells, cover with the sliced off top and freeze till set. Slice and serve chilled.
