The concept of La Bendita, a business owned by siblings Héctor and Evelyn Hernández, began a couple of years ago, when a family member took the initiative to improve the quality of their food. La Bendita first started selling healthy takeaway desserts, but they soon realized that their clientele wanted a space where they could enjoy their products. Both the food and drink menus are prepared with fresh ingredients and are gluten-free and made without cane sugar.

El concepto de La Bendita, negocio que pertenece a los hermanos Héctor y Evelyn Hernández, surgió hace un par de años, cuando un miembro de su familia tomó la iniciativa de mejorar la calidad de su alimentación. Aunque iniciaron con venta de postres para llevar, enseguida se dieron cuenta de que su clientela ya exigía un espacio donde pudieran disfrutar de sus productos.

Tanto el menú de comida como el de bebidas está preparado con ingredientes frescos, libres de gluten y sin azúcar de caña.

It is a fun challenge that transcends ages, as Jimena de la Cruz, supervisor of this stimulating experience, points out. “It’s an activity that embraces the family as a whole and gives teams the opportunity to cultivate leadership.” These rooms were meticulously designed by Diane Meyer, who after traveling the world, decided to bring this exciting experience to our region.

Estos cuartos fueron meticulosamente concebidos por la francesa Diane Meyer, quien después de viajar por el mundo conociendo este concepto, decidió emprender en nuestro destino con este misterioso lugar.

The concept of this artistic space, which has been shared with the popular café and bookstore, A Page in the Sun, since 2017, inspires a feeling of eclecticism and warmth. “This is a multifaceted space, where I also create and show my work,” says Jim Demetro, a renowned artist who has helped promote public art in our city.

by Luis Monsivas and Christian Salcedo, this concept of “sports on demand” offers the unique experience of watching national and international soccer games, as well as hockey, baseball, and college games, all while enjoying Mezcalita Urban, their specialty house drink prepared with mezcal. The stellar specialties are the Stuffed Jalapeños and Urban Wings. A gamer lounge features an arcade fight stick, where the video games of yesteryear are offered.

Under the visionary direction of Tania Mancha, this concept has the mission of restoring corn to a position of honor in our rich culinary heritage.

More than a traditional street food stall, a range of creativity is found here, with an impressive array of the different versions that this thousand-year-old food from Mexico can offer.

It is essential to emphasize that the cooking of the corn is enriched with tequesquite, an ancestral pre-Hispanic mineral.

A special mention is needed for their homemade sauces, from habanera to a pesto version that is enriched with the aroma of epazote and the texture of pumpkin seeds.

Bajo la dirección visionaria de Tania Mancha, este concepto florece con la noble misión de devolverle al maíz su posición de honor en nuestra rica herencia culinaria. Más que un tradicional puesto de elotes, aquí se abre un abanico de creatividad que sirve las distintas versiones que este milenario alimento de México puede ofrecer. Es esencial subrayar que la cocción del elote se enriquece con tequesquite, mineral ancestral prehispánico.

Una mención especial merece sus salsas caseras, desde la habanera hasta una versión pesto que está enriquecida con el aroma del epazote y la textura de las pepitas de calabaza.

La emoción deportiva adquiere otro nivel con Urban Sport Bar, un lugar en el que diariamente se transmiten eventos completamente en vivo y/o en repetición. Bajo el ingenio de Luis Monsivas y Christian Salcedo, este concepto de “deportes a la carta” brinda la experiencia única de ver partidos de futbol nacional e internacional, así como hockey, béisbol y juegos colegiales, todo mientras disfrutas de la Mezcalita Urban, la bebida de la casa preparada a base de mezcal. Las especialidades estelares son los Jalapeños Rellenos y las Alitas Urban. Una sala gamer cuenta un tablero arcade, donde se ofrecen los videojuegos de antaño.

Océano Pacífico 455-B, Palmar de Aramara With the slogan “Coffee with Intention” comes Café + Leche, a corner cafeteria where specialty coffee meets affordable prices, with meticulous attention to detail, from the first sprout of the coffee tree to the cup that caresses the lips. “Our coffee is all grown in Mexico in places like Chiapas, Guerrero, Veracruz and Nayarit, and its essence is enriched with cinnamon from Veracruz,” passionately emphasizes Stephan Andon Underwood, an owner with experience in specialty coffee.

Su esencia se enriquece con canela proveniente de las mismas tierras veracruzanas”, enfatiza con pasión Stephan Andon Underwood, propietario con experiencia en café de especialidad, quien además diseñó y construyó el espacio en su totalidad.

Driven by a book that was given to them, Mario Ramos and Irma Félix embarked on a journey of mastering the ancestral art of baking during the 2020 quarantine. From that, Pan de Cada Día PV was born. “Our specialty lies in our sourdough technique, a tribute to the past when bread was made unhurriedly without instant yeast,” reveals Mario, who points out that he uses this technique with wheat harvested in Sinaloa, but that is ground here locally. Now immersed in the world of bread-making, the couple channels their energies towards baking with exquisite flavor and unmatched nutritional values.

Así nació Pan de Cada Día PV. “Nuestra especialidad radica en la reverenciada técnica de la masa madre, un tributo al pasado cuando el pan nacía sin prisas, sin levadura instantánea", revela Mario, quien resalta que la creciente demanda se debe a esta técnica y al trigo cosechado en Sinaloa, pero que es molido aquí en casa. Ahora inmersos en este mundo, la pareja canaliza sus energías hacia la elaboración de pan con exquisito sabor y valores nutricionales inigualables.

n Puerto Vallarta, a voice has emerged that has enchanted hearts and awoken emotions. Anaís Belloso, a local performer and singer-songwriter, has conquered stages inside and outside of Mexico, carrying the essence of her Vallarta roots and fusing them with international influences. Her trajectory is a testament to the transformative power of music and how passion can lead the way to artistic excellence.

Anaís Belloso is originally from Puerto Vallarta, but she is a wandering soul in the best sense. Although she grew up and lives permanently in our city, music has opened doors for her to travel throughout North America and Europe, expanding her cultural horizons and nurturing her creativity.

Her training is not only limited to performing on international stages, as she is a student of the arts, as well. Anaís studied Photography Visual Arts at the Centro Universitario de la Costa of the University of Guadalajara, where she cultivated her creativity and learned to communicate stories through her camera lens. Later, Anaís searched for a more dynamic platform for her creativity, and she ventured into the world of cinema by studying Cinematography in Barcelona, Spain.

It was in 2016 when Anaís Belloso took her first professional steps in music, marking the beginning of a promising career. Her songs centered around themes of love, heartbreak and everyday experiences that resonate with audiences in profound and authentic ways. Inspired by the pop genre, in each melody her remarkable and unique style can be heard.

In addition to her nascent musical success, at the beginning of 2023 she became a local radio announcer hosting a program called Cantando con Anaís, a weekly show that provides visibility and support to local talents from around Banderas Bay. This project demonstrates her commitment to her community and her desire to enrich the musical landscape of the region.

Today, Anaís Belloso shares her music on several digital platforms and performs live at various venues in Puerto Vallarta, including Barrio Bistro by Memo Wulff, Gaby’s Restaurant Bar, La Traviata and Sunscape Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. Her music has truly taken flight and has transported her to broader stages, making her one of the most promising and impressive young people on the contemporary music scene. With every melody, she weaves a thread that connects hearts and cultures, reminding us that music is a universal language capable of uniting people from all over the world.

ARTURO DÁVILA es una persona que destaca por su habilidad para crear conexiones entre la gente con el objetivo de tejer una red de arraigo y sentido de pertenencia que no solo enriquece a Puerto Vallarta, sino también a las comunidades cercanas.

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Dávila spent his early years in La Huerta, Jalisco, before moving to Puerto Vallarta.

Here he completed his high school education and then embarked on a trip to his hometown, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from ITESO. His desire to continue his education led him to study in Barcelona, Spain, where he completed two diplomas in design and public art space, as well as a master’s degree in urban planning research from UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya).

During his period at the institute (from 2016 to 2021), Dávila managed and organized visits to our region with important figures in art and culture.

His aesthetic sensibility and experience were also reflected in projects that gave a new face to the city. One of the most notable was Street Art, a public art project which adorned Puerto Vallarta with a series of murals from local artists. This initiative (which we featured previously in our January-March 2021 edition), included more than 100 works throughout El Centro and in other areas of the city.

Additionally, his influence and architectural vision were reflected with the creation of a key cultural space: the Cultural and Sports Center “La Lija”, built with the aim of promoting and bringing culture to a greater segment of the population.

However, Dávila considers that one of the most significant projects during his time at the IVC was Damajuana. “This festival was created with the goal of granting raicilla its cultural values. It is an event where we are able to connect and meet the original producers from the Costa-Sierra region of Jalisco to offer them greater visibility and a different way of marketing their product. The idea was to create a meeting point to bring them closer to established brands.”

Durante su período en el instituto (2016 a 2021), Dávila gestionó y concretó la visita a nuestro destino de importantes personalidades relacionadas con el arte y la cultura. Su sensibilidad estética y experiencia también se plasmaron en proyectos que le dieron un nuevo rostro a la ciudad. Uno de los más destacados fue el Street Art, una intervención de espacio público que dotó a Puerto Vallarta con una serie de murales realizados por creadores locales. Esta iniciativa (que abordamos de manera general en nuestra edición Enero-Marzo 2021), comprendió más de 100 puntos distribuidos tanto en El Centro como en otras colonias de este puerto.

Premiere of “La Cage Aux Folles” and the Act2PV Classics: An Unmissable Theatrical Season The Act2PV entertainment complex, located at Basilio Badillo and Insurgentes in Emiliano Zapata, is preparing an extraordinary event with the highly anticipated premiere of La Cage Aux Folles (The Birdcage), the outstanding comedy by renowned French playwright Jean Poiret. Although it was originally scheduled to debut in 2020, plans were interrupted due to the pandemic. But on November 25th, the long-awaited comedy will come to the stage under the expert creative direction of Alfonso López.

“This will be our most ambitious show of the season,” says López, who is excited to introduce the story of George and Albin, a mature gay couple who run a theater. Their quiet routine is disrupted when George’s son announces that he will marry a young woman from an extremely conservative and homophobic family. Papantla Flyers A Manifestation of Harmony with Nature

Embedded in the cultural roots of Mexico, the impressive ritual of the Voladores de Papantla is a living example of the connection between human beings and nature. In Puerto Vallarta, this ancient tradition delights both residents and visitors.

The Voladores de Papantla are artists who pay homage to the sun and the fertility of the earth through an aerial ritual known as the “Dance of the Voladores.”

The origin of this practice dates back to the ancient Mesoamerican civilizations that inhabited the region of what is now the state of Veracruz.

This tribute made to the gods gives thanks for the harvest and asks for prosperity. The ritual begins with the flyers dressed in colorful costumes that represent elements of nature. At the top of a pole that symbolizes the tree of life, four flyers launch themselves from the top while one more—the captain—remains on top dancing and playing sacred music with a flute and a small drum.

As they descend, the voladores circle the pole to imitate the flight of birds. Each one has a long rope tied around their waist that unwinds, allowing them to descend slowly and carefully, representing harmony with nature.

Su tienda de vinos ofrece una selección de más de 100 marcas procedentes de países como México, Nueva Zelanda, Austria, Japón, Estados Unidos, Francia e Italia. Además, la variada oferta de sake importado de Japón viene respaldada por un equipo dispuesto a brindar asesoramiento a los menos familiarizados con esta bebida ancestral.
