We are still looking for more people – don’t be put off by thinking you can’t assist if you don’t have computer skills, you can! We are looking to have at least two volunteers on duty every day, so one can manage the computer and one can be talking to visitors about Thetford – simples! So, if you are passionate about our beautiful town and want to help others to enjoy all that we have to offer here – come on down! Thetford Festival’s programme is exciting and vibrant – look out in next month’s About Thetford for more details and the programmes will be available in July and delivered with August’s About Thetford. Tickets for some events are already on sale - Vicar of Dibley for example is already selling tickets.
Sun 30th June – Thetford Historical Character Walk Sat 13th July – Our Big Gig - this is a community music celebration which takes place across the UK from the 11th to the 14th July 2013. This annual event aims to bring communities together to celebrate their local musical talents and get more people involved in music making. Last month we told you about the amazing Go Whippet service, where if you are a bus pass holder, you can travel to Norwich/Yarmouth/Lowestoft/Sheringham/Cromer for either £1 or £2 return – you have been calling in to collect your timetables. This month’s top tip is from National Express – did you realise that you can currently travel to Cambridge, return, from as little as £3.40 (£2.20 if you are a coachcard holder!)? This represents excellent value, so get planning your trips now!
