very year hundreds of men and women are released from local prisons and returned to the community.

When prisoners are released, they face a daunting challenge and they are actively preventing themselves from becoming productive members of society. Within three years of the release, 67.8 percent of all recruits were re-arrested, and within five years, 76.6 percent were re-arrested. Because serving time not only affects individuals but also families and communities, Community Development Centers works with participants and their network of supportive family members and friends. Trained Volunteer Navigator Teams help Participants navigate the various pillars of successful re-entry into society: finding meaningful employment and housing, pursuing self-improvement that includes counseling or drug/alcohol treatment, and restoring trust through communication and accountability.
