Perfectly located for those studying in central Birmingham, 88 Bromsgrove House is situated in the city’s Chinese Quarter and provides luxury student accommodation new for the September 2017 intake. The project involves the construction of 140 high end studios and one bedroom apartments alongside communal areas and commercial retail units, all being delivered in a busy city centre location. Each room comes fully equipped with an integrated kitchen, large bed, en-suite bathroom, wardrobe and study desk, while also providing city views through a floor to ceiling window. The property also boasts amazing communal spaces including a cinema lounge, cookhouse, multiple snug and games areas, a karaoke suite, study rooms and even a gym.

Set in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Jewel Court boasts luxury living in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities. As a design and construction project consisting of 77 one and two bedroom apartments, the project included the demolition of an existing disused factory structure to make way for the new build accommodation. In keeping with the district’s heritage, these apartments offer high-quality craftsmanship. Being both designed and built to the highest specification, the apartments are fully fitted and benefit from a clever use of space. This provides occupants with bathroom and en-suite facilities, custom designed kitchens, thermostatically controlled radiators and communal spaces.

Work at easyHotel Birmingham saw the conversion and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Rosebury Building to create a ‘super budget’ hotel in the heart of the city centre. Comprised of 86 en-suite bedrooms, an entrance reception and staff facilities spanning four floors, the project involved the complete fit out of the rooms alongside the installation of partition walls, ceilings and floor coverings. The hotel was chosen as easyHotel’s first launch of 2017 due to its excellent location on John Bright Street. The hotel is near to cultural attractions, shopping, nightlife and main transport hubs, and is a fantastic location for both leisure and business visitors to our city.

Project: Platform_Bedford Client: Westrock Value: £12.5m Location: Bedford
The Platform_Bedford project included the strip out and conversion of the former Merton Centre to facilitate a permitted development scheme of 154 studio, one and two bedroom residential units. Previously office accommodation, the refurbishment also included the strip out of the remaining office areas, the adaptation of core areas, new lift installations and alterations to the existing facade. Located in the heart of Bedford town centre, the programme saw Shaylor Group’s dedicated team work closely with neighbouring businesses and the town council to ensure minimal disruption to trading and traffic while the scheme was being delivered.

Set amongst acres of rolling Kent countryside and with roots dating back as far as 1327, we are working with Pegasus Life to restore Wildernesse House to its former glory.
Grade II listed manor house
Being transformed into a collection of 19 one and two bedroom apartments, 4 one and two bedroom ‘legacy’ apartments and 8 two bedroom mews houses, the project has an eclectic mix of new build, refurbishment and restoration works that make Wildernesse House so special. On site facilities will include a spa, complete with gym, guest suites and restaurant. Our internal divisions are working in harmony to provide the highest quality end product and our inhouse Heritage Specialist is able to provide dedicated support to the conservation of the Grade II listed building.

Road Properties

This high profile project is located on Birmingham’s Hagley Road and has brought an important building back into active use. The scheme involved the provision of 136 studio bedrooms, seven common rooms, basement bike parking and a 6000 sq ft ground floor retail unit. A new steel frame was installed, extending the building in height by two floors with the new top floor running two thirds of the length from Hagley Road in order to reduce the impact on the adjacent listed building.
Cluster studios and kitchens
The fast track student accommodation project was delivered on time for the 2016 intake and provides self-catering facilities for all students, en-suite bathrooms, mini fitted kitchens and lounge areas. The project was delivered in a busy part of the city centre so Shaylor Group maintained close liaison with Birmingham City Council in order to obtain relevant road closures and permits.
