BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE

Client: Mapeley Estates Framework Value: £10 million Location: Nationwide Under the Mapeley STEPS Framework we were appointed to carry out the full refurbishment of existing government offices in Portsmouth. Works included new carpets, ceilings and decorations throughout, alongside the creation of an events centre, bespoke hubs, kitchen and feature walkway across the space. Minimising disruption, the majority of demolition works were carried out during the facility’s Christmas shutdown. Working in a live office environment, segregated construction zones were established and all noisy or disruptive works were scheduled out of hours.

Government Offices, Portsmouth

Client: Post Office Ltd Project Value: £5.3 million Location: Finsbury St, City of London The project comprised a detailed refurbishment of the ground, first and second floors of Finsbury Dials to create a new Post Office headquarters. Works included the construction of new internal divisions, floors, walls and ceilings as well as full decorations and bespoke joinery throughout. The project was successfully delivered in a busy city centre environment with restricted access and egress, whilst also ensuring noisy and dusty works didn’t disrupt offices on the upper floors of the building. Both the client and architect’s high expectations were met, with the modern and improved facilities delivered through stringent quality control across the programme. The project deservedly achieved SKA Gold Accreditation.

Post Office Customer Support Centre

Client: Bloor Homes Project Value: ÂŁ5.5 million Location: Swindon Works at Gateway North involved the design and construction of two steel frame office units alongside the provision of a new car park, access road and hard and soft landscaping. The first unit provides a new regional office for Bloor Homes and incorporates a high-end fit-out in accordance with their brand standards. Internal works involved the design and installation of M&E including LED lighting and ventilation, lift installations, internal partitioning and full decoration. Located in a constrained and logistically challenging site, we developed detailed logistics plans and employed a dedicated Banksman to co-ordinate all deliveries outside of peak hours, control access routes and minimise disruption to surrounding public use facilities.

Gateway North

Client: Midcounties Co-operative Project Value: ÂŁ892,000 Location: Shrewsbury This project saw fast paced round the clock working to deliver the major refurbishment of a live store. Despite a number of variations, the project team were able to complete the bespoke joinery packages and fit-out to both the store and back of house facilities within the original programme. Utilising our live environment expertise, all works were completed while complying with noise pollution legislation, providing outstanding public segregation and allowing the store to operate business as usual during the majority of the project.

Bicton Heath Co-operative

Client: Royal Bank of Scotland Framework Value: ÂŁ19 million Location: Nationwide Works at the Entrepreneurial Spark Business Hub in Manchester were negotiated with Shaylor Group as a result of our successful involvement with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Capital Investment Programme. The scheme comprised the conversion of an existing canteen to provide state-of-the-art flexible office spaces. Works incorporated M&E removal and reconfiguration, IT infrastructure, the installation of ceilings and partitions and a full fit-out. The project was delivered in line with a fast track programme and in a fully occupied building without any disruption to RBS activities.

RBS Business Hub, Manchester

Client: Post Office Ltd Framework Value: £12 million Location: Nationwide Works at Kennington Park Post Office included the full modernisation of the existing branch to a high specification. Providing full internal and external refurbishments, works were inclusive of a complete M&E overhaul alongside the installation of LED screens, touch screen self service kiosks and signage. Helping the store remain operational throughout, we carried out a number of temporary works including the installation of temporary counters which allowed the branch to continue its service while the original counters were stripped out and replaced. Out of hours working was restricted due to the branch’s location in a residential area and close communication was maintained with all stakeholders throughout the ten week programme.

Kennington Park Branch, London

Client: Friars House Investments Ltd for International Decorative Services Project Value: £2.6 million Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme The scheme for IDS incorporated a combination of design, construction and refurbishment elements. The project entailed the demolition of an existing office block alongside the construction of a new two storey steel framed office to the side of a remaining warehouse. The offices received full internal fit-out including decorations, carpet installations and M&E works. Inside the warehouse, a 10m fire protected wall was installed to divide the existing space and provide a thermal break for the factory’s operations.

International Decorative Services, Stoke

Client: BMW Group Project Value: ÂŁ600,000 Location: Hams Hall, Warwickshire Shaylor Group undertook the design and construction of three Multi-Use Function Units (MUFU) within the BMW plant at Hams Hall. All three units were located in different areas of the plant and were constructed with steel frame and proprietary glazed wall systems. The units were designed to be fully multi-functional spaces, fitted with new kitchen areas alongside the installation of bespoke furniture and vending machines. The plant remained operational throughout the works and our team maintained an extremely high standard of cleanliness to prevent dust contacting the live plant and machinery.
