Lieutenant Governor’s Greeting

Hello Division 9! Serving as your Lieutenant Governor was a blast for the past few months! We definitely bonded and created chemistry. It’s only been two months and yet we are having so much fun! My goals for this service year are to increase membership and strengthen unity both inside and outside of our division. In order to accomplish these goals we need to bond together. Throughout my service year I hope to plan board member meetings for officers to share leadership skills as well as ideas for events. Additionally, I would like to add more divisional events that Key Club members can attend. To conclude, I would like to thank each and one of you for your hard work and energy that made our divisional stronger and better. Yours in Service, Ruoxin Lin Lieutenant Governor New York District Division 9

67 Annual Leadership Training Conference Flashback “My LTC experience was yet spectacular. It was such an amazing first experience to see key club become so motivated to be positive and help others when times are needed. It taught me a valuable lesson on why we should stand up for ourselves and take part in being a leader and the foundation of what it means to be a family. I never thought I could make a lot of connection with many people and exchange common things with each other. I cannot forget that event because it brought so much laughter and happiness into my life.” Eve Yee IP Editor of Brooklyn Technical High School Key Club

Service Year Flashback “Key Club has been a thought provoking and inspirational organization that has influenced my daily attribute. This club has provided me knowledge and broadened my outlook on problems that arise in our community and third world countries. It has showed me that us, students, can make a significant change in our world. As a previous Vice President of Key Club at Edward R. Murrow High School, I acted as a liaison by spreading awareness about the source of ongoing conflicts to the members of Key Club who want to help solve problems. By holding fundraising events such as bake sales, auctions, and UNICEF trick-or-treat box donations, our members and I help decrease the sufferings that other people are experiencing. Helping others and leading a team of people with a shared cause provides me with much joy and motivates me to persevere. As I wait for my new stage of life, college, I hope I would be given the opportunity to continue to spread awareness and to fight the ongoing conflicts that arise in society.” Tracy Tin

Five Boro Bike Tour

Five Boro Bike Tour “At first, I did doubt why I make myself get up at 5:00am in the morning on a Sunday. But the view of the Brooklyn Bridge, amazing breakfast and lunch totally paid off. When I first arrived at the volunteer site, I was assigned to the Herbal Tea station. Our task was to hand out the bottled tea to the bikers. After 2 hours, no one showed up. So we got bored, and start staking bottles of tea. We made 4 rows of tea and 2 pyramids. Being a Five Boro Bike Tour volunteer was a great experience. I made many friends and I strongly recommend you to participate, it’s a once in a lifetime experience.” Ruoxin Lin Lieutenant Governor of Division 9

Peanut Day

AIDS Walk

AIDS Walk “As the sun touched the clouds that Sunday morning, I began to regret not wearing shorts. This was a glimpse at the sweaty albeit worthwhile 10 kilometers around Central Park. Our Key Club met with other clubs from Division 8 and 11 thanks to Danny. We began the walk in our small cluster of Key Clubs and soon everyone just went their own way. We walked around Central Park, then on the streets and then back to Central Park again. The mere sight of the red and white arch of the finish line inspired us to give one last push. The free food and drinks provided made it all worth it, as well as the certificate of completion. I can say it was for AIDS but in my heart those free chips were pretty good.”

Raymond Liao Webmaster of Midwood High School Key Club
