Roland Barthes a dit un jour « La photographie est comme un théâtre primitif, comme un tableau vivant, la figuration de la face immobile sous laquelle nous voyons des morts ». C'est ainsi, en quelques mots, que je pourrais décrire mon travail.
TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? La littérature, l'histoire, la peinture classique, les arts visuels et même la science. Je recherche l'inspiration partout, la trouvant souvent à des endroits inhabituels et imprévus.

A OTYLIE TES PROJETS ? Je viens juste de publier mon 1er album monographique (Limbo, des éditions Paulsen, disponible à l'achat ici : http://blog.paulsen-media.com/webstore) et j'ai déjà commencé à travailler sur mon 2e ouvrage (également avec Paulsen). Il s'agira d'une collaboration avec le sculpteur Pascale Pollier, combinant nos intérêts mutuels sur les aspects ésotériques de la religion, de la science et de l'histoire. J'ai aussi d'autres expositions et commandes d'articles de prévues; je suis très excitée par ma future exposition solo, de février à avril 2013 à la galerie d'art Richard Young, Kensington et Chelsea, à Londres.
YOUR UNIVERSE... Roland Barthes once said "Photography is a kind of primitive theatre, a kind of tableau vivant, a figuration of the motionless and made up face beneath which we see the dead". That is how, in a few words, I too would describe my world.
YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION? Literature, history, classical painting, visual arts and even science. I look for inspiration everywhere, often finding it unusual and unexpected places.
YOUR PROJECTS? I have just had my first monographic album published (Limbo, by Paulsen Editions, you can buy it online here: http://blog.paulsen-media.com/store) and have already begun working on my second book (also with Paulsen). It will be a collaboration with sculptor, Pascale Pollier, combining our mutual interests in the esoteric aspects of religion, science and history. I also have some other exhibitions and editorial commissions lined up; I am really excited about my solo exhibition in February 2013-April 2013 at the Richard Young Gallery, Kensington and Chelsea, London.

CORALIE LAVERDET A PROPOS
Coralie Laverdet explore le langage sensible et poétique de la matière. Son travail manifeste son engouement prononcé pour les formes de la nature. Le bois et le papier sont ses matériaux de prédilection. Elle aime jouer de la relation complice et complexe de ces matières. Son intérêt pour l’art et l’architecture la mène à des réalisations en collaboration avec des architectes à des fins privées ou publiques.

En parallèle, elle multiplie les expositions personnelles et collectives en France et à l’étranger ainsi que des installations artistiques au sein de lieux de mémoire. Diplômée de l’Ecole Boulle et de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, elle a reçu le 2ème prix de la Triennale Internationale de Charmey (Suisse) en 2011.
Coralie Laverdet explores the sensitive and poetic language of matter. Her works reflects her sharp interest for nature forms. Wood and paper are her favourite materials. She likes to play with their conniving and complex relation.
Her interest for art and architecture leads her to work in collaboration with architects for private or public aims.
At the same time, she participates at a quantity of personal and collective exhibitions in France and abroad, as well as artistic installations in historic memory places. Graduated from the famous “Boulle School” and the National Superior School of Fine arts in Paris, she received the 2nd price of international Triennial of Charmey (Switzerland) in 2011.

ANNABELLE JOUSSAUME INTERVIEW TON UNIVERS...
C'est notre relation au monde qui m'interroge, dans mes tableaux j'évoque notre approche intime, voire fusionnelle, avec l'eau parce que l'élément aquatique me fascine. Les corps s'y diluent au profit de l'espace. Ils sont en apesanteur, de passage… en suspension. Ils se dématérialisent presque pour mieux tenter de faire partie de cet univers.
TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? Mes voyages (je suis partie quelques années sur un voilier) m'ont évidemment inspirée mais aussi la peinture (maîtrise d'art plastique). Je suis très éclectique, un tableau de Marlène Dumas ou de Kieffer me touchera autant qu'un Goya ou Fra Angelico.

Mes tableaux sont essentiellement nourris d'impressions fugitives, d'où des images flottantes.
TES PROJETS ? Je vais continuer d'essayer de concilier mon goût pour l'art et l'aventure. Cette année je pars quelques temps convoyer un voilier du Venezuela à Malaga et parallèlement je prépare, entre autre, avec deux autres artistes, une très belle exposition qui confrontera peinture et cinema. Mais pour l'instant, je finalise surtout mon expo pour la Bellevilloise (Paris jusqu'à fin février)
YOUR UNIVERSE... I wonder about our relation to the world, in my paintings I touch on our intimate, sometimes intensely close approach with water because the aquatic element fascinates me.
YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION? My travels (I have travelled for a few years on a sailing boat) obviously inspired me but also painting (Master in fine arts). I am very eclectic, a painting by Marlène Dumas or Kieffer will affect me as much as one from Goya or Fra Angelico. My paintings are essentially made of fleeting impressions hence the floating images.
YOUR PROJECTS? I am going to keep trying to reconcile my taste for art and adventure. This year I'll be away escorting a sailing boat from Venezuela to Malaga, and at the same time I'm preparing, among other things, with two other artists, a very beautiful exhibition that will confront painting and cinema. But for the moment, I'm finalizing my exhibition at la Bellevilloise (in Paris until the end of February)

SOPHIE MEIER COSYWORKS INTERVIEW TON UNIVERS...
Fireboox : Des livres d'artistes dans des boîtes d'allumettes qui se déploient en Leporello. Mon père, éditeur, venait de terminer un travail important d’une année (le dernier John Cage) et avait envie de spontanéité. Les Fireboox nous ont offert cet espace de promptitude. Elles s’adressent directement au regardeur et s’inscrivent dans ce que l’on appelle la Poésie de circonstance. Le format, qui, a priori, semble petit, révèle le travail de chaque artiste, qui, pour la plupart, réalisent des travaux originaux. Nous faisons tout à la main : impression, rainage, coupe, collage.

TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? Pensé à la manière de ces petits poèmes japonais, les Haïkus, nous en avons fait un objet léger, presque désuet, graphique, poétique.
TES PROJETS ? De créations en expositions, les projets ne cessent de naître, de croître.
YOUR UNIVERSE... Fireboox : Artists books in matchboxes that spread out as Leporello. My father, an editor, had just finished a year-long important work (the latest John Cage album) and wanted some spontaneity. The Fireboox gave us this area of promptness. They directly talk to the viewer and are part of what we call the poetry of circumstance. It's a tiny format at first sight but it reveals each artist's works, most of them being originals. Everything is done manually: printing, grooving, cutting, sticking.
YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION? Imagined in the same way as Haikus, the short Japanese poems, we created a light, graphic, poetic object, almost outdated.
YOUR PROJECTS? From creations to exhibitions, projects keep coming and growing.

Il est fait de chair, d’obscurité, et de mémoire pour une part, de couleurs et d’émotions pour une autre. L’introspection et la relation à l’extérieur.
TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? J’aime Avedon, Witkin, Penn, Lennart Nilsson, Manabu Yamanaka, Pierre Gonnord, Peter Lipmann, Bacon, Bill Viola. Les grands artistes nous ouvrent les yeux. S’il est vrai qu’il y a toujours un effet « persistance rétinienne », l’inspiration est un souffle, une étincelle, une résonnance de soi à ce qui nous entoure. La production est le résultat des deux.

TES PROJETS ? Une série de P.O.M, sortes d’instantanés et fruit de rencontres avec des artistes ou des inconnus, ayant pour fil directeur la passion. THOMAS MAINARDI INTERVIEW
Mon univers voyage à la croisée de différents mouvements qui s’entremêlent dans mon travail, entre Pop Art, avec des influences certaines de l’art urbain ou de l’Expressionnisme abstrait. J’ai de plus en plus tendance à faire jouer les ambivalences entre le bien et le mal, la violence et la douceur, l’amour et la haine, l’éphémère de l’existence et l’immuable de la mort, toujours pour coller d’avantage à ma vision si complexe de l’être humain, qui est et reste ma source première d’inspiration.

My universe is made of different movements that meet within my work, between Pop art with strong urban influence and abstract expressionism. I tend to play with the ambivalences between right and wrong, violence and gentleness, love and hatred, the fleeting of existence and the certainty of death, in order to be as close as possible to my complex vision of the human being, which remains my main source of inspiration.

Je m’appelle Catho. Je suis une étudiante en graphisme belge de 21 ans et très intéressée par la photographie. Je tente d’expérimenter avec les images en essayant différents styles et appareils.
TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? J’admire de nombreux photographes, mais la plupart sont, comme moi, des étudiants qui prennent des photos pendant leur temps libre. L’une d’entre eux, Tine Swijns, est une incroyable photographe et amie.

Ma peinture est à cheval entre le mouvement et le statique. Personnages ébauchés, fugacité d’un geste, je fixe sur la toile des instants qui, sans elle, s’évanouiraient aussitôt.
TES SOURCES D'INSPIRATION ? Je tire mon inspiration de non-événements : des fruits qui tombent, des personnes seules au restaurant, des ruines en pleine campagne. Par-dessus tout, c’est l’idée de silence et de solitude que j’aime exprimer.

YOUR UNIVERSE... My paintings straddle through movement and stillness. Sketched characters, fleetingness of a movement, on the canvas I contain moments that would otherwise vanish immediately.
YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION? My inspiration comes from “non-events”: falling pieces of fruit, people alone in a restaurant, ruins deep in the countryside. I like to express the ideas of silence and loneliness more than anything.
YOUR PROJECTS? A series of paintings focusing on walking women is currently going through my mind… We’ll see.
