the end of the road Avec mon frère Jesse Salto et ma petite amie Lise Gardo, nous avons rejoint Theo Gosselin et Maud Chalard pour la dernière étape d’un voyage de 3 mois à travers les États Unis donnant lieu à/à l’origine d’un projet photo intitulé Joe’s Road. Nous avons vécu beaucoup de moments précieux pendant ces quelques jours sur la route entre Los Angeles et le Grand Canyon. With my brother Jesse Salto and my girlfriend Lise Gardo, we joined Theo Gosselin and Maud Chalard on the last legs of their 3 months road trip and photo project across America titled Joe’s Road. We lived many treasured moments in those few days on the road between Los Angeles and the Grand Canyon.

Monolypes Néologisme né de la contraction d’une technique d’estampage, le monotype, et de la figure qu’il représente, le monolithe, le « monolype » n’est ni architecture, ni sculpture, il est les deux à la fois tout en étant leur contraire. Sculpture en deux dimensions, architecture sans ouverture ni fonction, monobloc pesant et flottant à la fois, sans environnement, sans échelle, sans référent. Il est ce qu’il est. Neologism coming from a contraction of a technic of stamping, the monotype, and from the figure it represents, the monolith, the «monotype» is neither architecture, nor sculpture, it is both at the same time while being its contrary. Two dimensional scuplture, architecture without function nor opening, weighty and floating monoblock, without surrounding, nor scale, nor base, it is what it is.

Between Dotwork & Typography Passionné de dessin et de typo. Féru de sneakers. Inspiré aussi bien par l’art digital que par la culture urbaine, la mode ou la nature. Voilà qui caractérise assez justement Maksim Lopez. En naviguant entre passé, présent et futur, il cherche, et trouve, des passerelles logiques entre la tradition de la typographie et le graffiti. Cette transversalité lui permet de jouir de la rigidité et de la pureté du premier tout en bénéficiant du côté plus sauvage et de la hardiesse du second. A tout ça, ajoutez une technique s’inspirant du tatouage, un travail d’orfèvrerie à base de pointillisme et de trame qui confère détails, relief, expressivité et dynamisme aux œuvres de Maksim Lopez. Vous l’aurez compris, élégance, finesse, sens et justesse sont maîtres mots pour Maksim. Passionate by drawing and typography, sneakers lover, inspired by digital art, Urban culture, fashion and nature. This is who Maksim Lopez is. While navigating between past, present and future, he searches and finds, bridges between the tradition of typography and the art of graffiti. This interdisciplinarity allows him the use of the rigor and the purity of the first while benefiting from the wild side and boldness of the second. Add to that a technic of tattoo artist and goldsmithwork based on pointillism, giving details, depths, expression and dynamism to Maksim Lopez’s work. As you can understand by now, elegance, finesse, meaning and accuracy are Maksim’s guiding principles.
