Easton Kirk Kirk, a catcher from Wallace State (Ala.) Community College, won the Jayhawk League batting title and hit .410 for the season. He hit six home runs, three of which were grand slams. Kirk also led the team with 42 runs driven in. The Piedmont, Ala., native helped the Larks go 35-12 overall and 26-9 record in the Jayhawk League as the Larks picked up their 10th league title in program history.

Dalton Kuhn The Smith Center product played for the West team in the Kansas Shrine Bowl on July 28 in Pittsburg, notching three tackles in the game. He helped the Redmen win the Class 2-1A state championship as a senior. Kuhn was also a standout wrestler in high school. The defensive end is FXUUHQWO\ HQWHULQJ KLV ÆUVW year with the Fort Hays State University football team.

Levi Archer The Goodland native had the longest reception of the Shrine Bowl, hauling in a 37-yarder to set up a West touchdown. He also had three tackles from his safety spot in the game. Archer was a star quarterback at Goodland. He passed for 1,630 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 706 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. He is currently beginning his college football career at Kansas State.

Taylor Rolfs Rolfs, a junior on the Fort Hays State women’s basketball team, spent 10 days in Brazil this summer after being selected to play for the USA Division II Women’s Basketball Team. The team played a four-game schedule in early August against professional teams near Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro. She was reunited on the team with former Central Plains teammate Reagan Phelan, now at Washburn. Rolfs averaged 8.1 points as a sophomore last season for FHSU.
