They are presenting their debut album after working on it the previous year. This is a rare case in the Colombian scene where not so many bands are part of this genre. This album is excellent, ranging form heavy influences of classic shoegaze and dream pop bands with a declared fascination for Phil Spector’s wall of sound. Helman uses different effects and guitar textures over the album’s eight tracks, while Eliana charms your ears with her beautiful voice.

With a new album due out in 2014, FPRF has released “Contrive,” the first single from the band’s sophomore effort. The track has signaled a transition, relying on extremely catchy hooks and intricate progressions, though still keeping the ambiance that has come to be associated with FPRF. While poppier than the material that preceded it, there is a technicality to the nearly 8-minute song that is very impressive. The Russian foursome is working hard on completing the new album, which should be fantastic if its first track is any indication.
