First of all, if you are reading this, thank you for checking out the first issue of Muso Planet. I hope it will be followed by many more. The goal of this zine is to simply get good music from around the world into the ears of a wider audience. I’m fortunate that eight truly wonderful bands from seven different countries have decided to take part in this first issue. まず、Muso Planetの創刊号を手に取ってくれて感謝 したい。今後も2号、3号、と続けていきたいと思っ ている。このzineの目標は、世界の良い音楽を広め ることである。今号には７カ国から８組ものバンド が参加してくれ、嬉しく思う。
I started Muso Japan in early 2012, when I found out that I was moving from the Chicago-area to

In addition to functioning as a musical outfit they are working to cultivate a shoegaze scene in Shanghai, working hard to organize October’s The First East Asia Shoegaze Festival. Peake, a self-proclaimed insomniac and stargazer, started the project recording songs as they formed in his head on an old 4-track tape machine. Based in the rural North Shropshire, U.K., where live venues are scarce outside of local open mic nights, Peake has maintained “the phantoms” primarily as a recording project. His catalog is rather abundant, sporting 7 releases, 6 of which have been recorded since 2008.
