FATHER, SON and HOUSE OF GUCCI: WHY PATRICIA REGGIANI KILLED HER HUSBAND MAURIZIO GUCCI? The movie "House of Gucci" tells the story of the founding family of the Gucci house. Including the darkest part, in which Patricia Reggiani, wife of one of the company's owners, Maurizio Gucci, ordered his murder. Her role was played by Lady Gaga. Patricia met Maurizio Gucci, one of the heirs of the fashion empire, in November 1970. Maurizio's father, Rodolfo Gucci, son of the founder of the fashion house Gucci, hated the girl from the moment he found out about her. He considered Patricia a rude party girl, unworthy of his only son, and was convinced that with his help she wanted to get "out of the mud and into the nobility". Rodolfo Gucci softened and accepted his son's chosen one only after the birth of his granddaughter, who was named Alessandra after Maurizio's mother. At the same time Patricia arranges a meeting between Maurizio and his uncle Aldo Gucci. Feeling what opportunities, the famous family can open to her, she convinces her husband to move to New York to help her uncle develop the family business in the USA.

Patricia Reggiani changed from a fragile and compliant girl to a real business shark: in the times when the couple lived in New York, she was the one who made many decisions about the fashion house. That all changed in 1983 when Rodolfo Gucci died, leaving a controlling stake in the company to his son. Maurizio Gucci's rise to the chairmanship coincided with the beginning of the collapse of his marriage to Patricia Reggiani. In May 1985, Maurizio packed his suitcase and told his wife he was going to Florence for a few days. A few days later, a family friend informed Patricia that he would not be returning. Patricia plunged into a deep depression, but tried to keep her composure, hoping that Maurizio would come to his senses and return to her. Despite Patricia's best efforts, there was no reunion, and Maurizio filed for divorce. The trial lasted almost 10 years, and during that time the younger Gucci began a new romance – with his childhood friend Paola Franchi. After getting a divorce, he proposed to Paola - and the couple began to prepare for the wedding. It was a real blow to Reggiani.
