WHERE DISCIPLINED MINDS, SOUND CHARACTER, HEALTHY BODIES, AND
 CREATIVE SPIRITS THRIVE.

Coordinating high-quality education and a passion for skiing
is a perennial problem for families, particularly those from the Bay Area. No longer. Lake Tahoe School, the oldest independent school in the Tahoe Basin, has formalized and expanded its already well-developed program of studies designed to support the on-snow training needs of the competitive middle school ski racer - alpine or Nordic - and free rider or snowboarder.

This is the LTS Student/Skier's Edge: •

For 10 weeks every winter, Lake Tahoe School dismisses Thursday classes at midday and transports students a 5-minute bus-ride up the mountain from school to Diamond Peak Ski Resort. With stunning panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, Diamond Peak has long been recognized as one of the most scenic skiing and riding resorts in the world. Lake Tahoe School's middle school core academic classes in mathematics, science, Spanish, and humanities (encompassing language arts and social studies) meet prior to lunch daily, facilitating your child’s timely transition to on-snow training as many days of the week as necessary to help them meet their goals. School provides transportation to Diamond Peak on Thursdays - parents provide transportation to any of the other ski areas where their children might choose to train on any other team training days. To facilitate continued connected engagement in the learning process while traveling for ski races, LTS students in grades 5-8 are supplied with an iPad. In line with our mission of developing confident, articulate leaders, student/skiers planning on missing consecutive school days to travel are expected to notify and request travel syllabi covering assignments in core classes from their teachers a minimum of three days in advance of their departure date.

So, go ahead! Leave the "weekend warrior" and Bay Area traffic and hassles behind! Make the move you have always dreamed of to serene North Lake Tahoe, and enroll your children at the Tahoe Basin's most established independent school, Lake Tahoe School.
