Energy Security: Commission Puts Forward Comprehensive Strategy to Strengthen Security of Supply In response to the political crisis in Ukraine and the overall importance of a stable and abundant supply of energy for EU citizens and economy, the European Commission released Source: ec.europa.eu an "EU Energy Security Strategy" on May, 28th 2014. To ensure the security of supply challenges in the medium and long-term, the EC proposes actions in several key areas: diversify supplier countries and routes, upgrade energy infrastructure, increase energy efficiency, complete the EU internal energy market and build missing infrastructure links.
