Smart City Exhibition 2014: Technologies and Solutions for the Smart City The third edition of the Smart City Exhibition will be held from 22 to 24 October 2014 in Bologna, Italy. The event arises from the partnership between FORUM PA and Bologna Fiere and it will be addressed to the Source: smartcityexhibition.it governance and the policies for the smart city. Under this scenario a call for solutions called "Technologies and solutions for the smart city" was launched. This initiative is divided into three specific areas: "How to make a city smart in a step-by-step manner?", "How to exploit research results to develop smart technologies?", and "How to improve the quality of urban life from a gender perspective able to overcome disparities?". The closing date is the 19th of September.

The section presents hot topics in the energy field, like the investments on renewable biobased technologies, including the need for modernizing electricity grid, making it more decentralized, reliable and resilient. It also focuses on the importance to expand charge infrastructure to boost EV market.

smart city

This page provides you with details about international projects on smart cities (i.e. India and Scandinavia). Moreover you can read about some relevant initiatives in the field of the IoT. Finally it focuses on innovative mobility solutions (i.e. the electric carsharing program in the French City of Grenoble and the plans for the transportation network of Helsinki).
