Aeras' TB Unmasked campaign depicts stories of frontline healthcare workers involved in the global epidemic of tuberculosis. This campaign gives healthcare workers the voice to narrate their powerful stories and emphasizes TB protection and prevention. If you would like to tell your story or get involved, please contact Aeras. The 38th Joint Coordination Board (JCB) Session at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland is set for June 22-25, 2015. Co-sponsored by UNICEF, UNDP, World Bank, and WHO, this JCB Meeting will highlight a Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR). The briefing session will note progress made so far and pose future recommendations for TDR. If you are a GHC member and interested in participating in this session, please contact us. The Global Health Technologies Coalition (GHTC) launched its sixth annual policy report,Meeting the challenge, seizing the opportunity: US leadership can advance global health R&D. This report focuses on how the Obama Administration can develop an approach to advancing research and development (R&D) of global health technologies. Read a summaryof the report. At the request of the Gavi Board, the Gavi Secretariat is conducting a review of the Eligibility, Graduation and Co-financing policies which is informed by several processes including a public consultation with stakeholders. This survey seeks your feedback on selected aspects of Gavi's Eligibility, Graduation and Co-financing policies and related programs. The outcomes of this consultation will be taken into account in recommendations to the Gavi Board for discussion at their meeting in June 2015. The survey is open to the public until April 15.

Advocacy Update


GHC's recent publication, "Taking Stock: Why U.S Investments in Global Health Matter" is now online. Explore this online briefing book to learn how U.S. investments have helped make advances in critical global health areas.

The White House released the National Action Plan, which outlines federal actions that should be taken over the next five years to combat and prevent the rise of antibioticresistant bacteria. This aligns with the FY2016 budget proposal that increases funding for combating and preventing antibiotic resistance to more than $1.2 billion. The FY2016 budget proposal also supports activities emphasized in CDC's Antibiotics Resistance Solutions Initiative.

Citizens Hearings across Africa and Asia are bringing together government leaders, health services providers, the media and communities to focus on how to improve the health of women and children and to ensure that adolescents' priorities are on government agendas. White Ribbon Alliance, World Vision, Save the Children and IPPF are working with local partners to hold the hearings in nearly 30 countries in the first half of this year.
