Consider how best to interpret the project theme : It happened on this day. What happened through the centuries on a specific day, month or year? However fascinating the topic, your challenge is to create a delivery platform that demands the readers attention.
It needs to address the norms of information architecture while actively working to evoke an emotional response from the reader or viewer. The choice of media is yours – as long as it expresses a solid idea, informs us and shows your typographic skills.

In response to the brief I have created a three part resolution that informs the viewer about events that have happened upon the 7th of April through the centuries. The main focus of my deliverables is the contemporary newspaper that is full of small
articles covering a wide range of subjects relating to things that have occurred on the date I selected. All of the supporting imagery was sourced online allowing me to concentrate on the format, layout and structure of the publication.

Articles featured in the newspaper were then adapted to form a range of modern postcards using large scale image and the date on the front and the factual information on the reverse. These can be collected to form a timeline of events.
Finally the date which has been typographically arranged in a certain way throughout the project has been applied to a poster. Next years date and a question mark have been added to make the viewer consider what will happen on this date in the future.
