CEO Address Hospital News Hospital Events Season of Giving

CEO ADDRESS I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday creating new memories with your families and loved ones, relaxing and recharging, and reflecting on all the blessings of 2018. I am personally extremely grateful for all we have achieved this year together for the hospital and those we serve. We had a very busy December at Florida Hospital North Pinellas. We made exciting progress on our new lobby renovation project and our new daVinci Xi robot arrived. We also hosted several holiday events, such as our annual Lights of Love ceremony and annual Holiday Brunch. In addition, you will read about how we embraced the season of giving in 2018 through multiple projects, including a bed build, sponsoring local foster children and providing gifts to our own employee families for Christmas. In a few short days, on January 2nd, we will officially change our name to AdventHealth North Pinellas. We laid a lot of great groundwork for this transition in 2018, including Care Navigation services and The Whole Care Experience training. In 2019, we will continue to make improvements throughout our system to ensure we are delivering whole-person care to every person, every time. I wish each of you a Happy New Year, and I look forward to embarking on a transformative journey for our hospital with you in 2019. God Bless,

Jason Dunkel President and CEO

LOBBY PROJECT UPDATE As you know, we are working on plans to renovate and transform our existing lobby into a new area that will welcome patients and visitors to our hospital. I am honored to shared that through our Foundation fundraising efforts, we recently received a donation commitment from a local family, Joe and Anna Kokolakis, of $150,000 for the project. This project would not be possible without the generosity of our donors, and we are extremely grateful to the Kokolakis family for their support. I look forward to sharing more information with you soon on how we plan to transform this space into something very special for the hospital.

NEW XI ROBOT HAS ARRIVED This month, our new daVinci Xi robot was delivered! Our surgical staff and physicians were very excited about this special delivery. The new Xi robot offers: • A new design that facilitates anatomical access from virtually any position. • A simpler, more compact endoscope with improved visual definition and clarity. • A camera/endoscope which attaches to any of the 4 arms, providing flexibility for visualizing the surgical site. • Smaller, thinner arms with more flexible joints offer greater range of motion. • Longer instrument shafts to give surgeons greater operative reach. We are excited about offering this new service and will begin sharing the news throughout the community soon.

HOSPITAL NEWS NAME CHANGE - JANUARY 2 On January 2nd, we will officially change our name to AdventHealth North Pinellas. During this time, we will begin communicating our new name and brand promise to the communities we serve, and you will begin to see advertising reflecting these throughout all of the markets AdventHealth operates care locations in. As part of our transition to one unified brand, we will be standardizing badges and uniforms to reflect our new name and logo. This also makes it easy for consumers to recognize who we are – one national system that provides connected care under one brand. Consistent badges and uniforms also reduce patient anxiety by providing a clear, familiar identifier for those they can trust to provide them care. Badges On January 2, 2019, you will begin wearing an interim badge that will be worn on top of your current badge. This badge will have no functionality but will reflect our new name and logo. Then, between January and June 2019, your interim badge will be replaced by an active, functional badge with our new name and logo. Interim badges will be distributed to you by your Department Director. Uniforms New uniform fittings will begin at North Pinellas on February 17. At these events, a personal shopper will work with you to select the uniform of your choice and assist you with placing your initial order. You will receive one or more complimentary uniform sets, based on your role and job status. Orders will be delivered to your home shortly after your attendance at the event. Some decisions and details regarding uniforms are still being finalized. When those details are determined, as well as final information on our local fitting event, we will share them with you. In the interim, please visit the AdventHealth Transition site to find information on many of the upcoming changes, such as uniform color by role and answers to frequently asked questions.

HOSPITAL EVENTS JAVA WITH JASON Our next Java with Jason will be Friday, January 11th from 7:30-8:30am in the Boardroom. This is a laid-back event, which is intended for casual conversation, and time to get to know one another and serve as an opportunity to have any of your questions answered. We will serve Dunkin Donuts coffee and treats, and look forward to seeing you there!

HEALTHY HOP This month, we announced a new partnership with the city of Tarpon Springs and Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority to provide free transportation to medical services for low-income seniors in the Tarpon Springs community. Through the partnership, low-income seniors age 65 and older can receive two round trips per month to medical services such as doctor appointments. We are excited about supporting this program and ensuring we help our community members live their healthiest lives possible.

EMPLOYEE UPDATES LIGHTS OF LOVE We hosted our 32nd annual Lights of Love Celebration on Wednesday, December 5th. We had incredible holiday performances by the Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Band, New Port Richey Adventist Christian Academy Choir, and Tarpon Springs Elementary Chorus. We even had a special guest performance from Dr. Michael Longley.

HOLIDAY BRUNCH We held our 3rd annual Holiday Brunch on Friday, December 21st in the Allspice Cafe. The food and decorations were wonderful, and it was great to celebrate this time of year with you and your families. I hope you enjoyed this special event.

FHNP EMPLOYEE CHRISTMAS Every year, we support our own Florida Hospital North Pinellas team members during the holidays by providing Christmas presents to any families in need of our assistance. This year, we were able to give gifts to 68 kids (34 families) through your generous donations. It is projects like these, and our support of each other, that makes FHNP a very special place to work

ANGEL TREE This year, we also provided a sponsorship in coordination with the New Port Richey Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Our hospital sponsored over 50 children in the community through the Eckerd Foster program. We donated the presents at a special Angel Tree Presentation at the church earlier this month.

THE SEASON OF GIVING SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE This December, we teamed up with a local nonprofit group, Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), to purchase and build beds for children in need. Over 80 volunteers between the hospital and SHP showed up for the bed build on December 1st, and together built 35 beds. Those, plus an additional 10 beds were delivered to children in need before the Christmas holiday.
