• Iron Beads Box Pack – 12861

• Iron Beads Pegboard – Clear – 12758

• Iron Beads Ironing Paper – Pack of 10 – 12754

DID YOU KNOW?

In 2016, a scientist conducted an experiment to see if Vegemite could be used as a conductor. Surprisingly, due to the high ion and water content, it completed the electric circuit and turned on a LED light!

1. Download and print out the template on page 10. Place your pegboard on a flat surface with the template underneath.

2. Fill in the design with coloured iron beads according to the template. Preheat a household iron to the medium setting. When carrying the bead design to the iron, be careful not to tip or bump the beads from the pegboard!

3. Cover the beads with ironing paper or baking paper. Gently iron the beads in a circular motion for about 20 – 30 seconds so the beads fuse together.

Warning: Ironing must be done by an adult only.

4. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Lift your design from the pegboard and flip the design over onto your ironing surface. Cover it with ironing paper and iron the other side to fuse it evenly.

5. Thread the split ring on the snap hook through the hole in the top of the design. Be careful when pushing the split ring over the beads and through the hole.

If you are using an oven, bake at 150°C for approximately 5 minutes. If you are using a microwave, we heated our hearts for approximately 8 minutes. Timing for each will vary based on individual appliance, so be sure to keep watch so the crayons don’t smoke and burn!
