Bucherer has partnered with Hannes Becker, a talented German nature photographer, who has taken striking photos of Swiss landscapes representing each of the five colors in the collection. “We’ve had several discussions with Hannes and discussed with him both the new Manero Flyback collection as well as our vision on how to depict this new collection. Hannes is a true artist and he was ideal for this project: he’s young, dynamic, and completely tuned in. His unique perspective meant that he could find exactly the landscapes, angles, colors, and light that were perfect for this collection. He took our question ‘What color inspires you?’ to heart and we know that everyone who sees his photos will have their own answers to that question.”

Hannes Becker is a freelance photographer who specializes in the adventure and landscape niche. Having grown up in rural Germany, his photography style was influenced by his surroundings early on. These days, he is inspired by Germany’s wild north and is often drawn to faraway places. To inspire the viewer and showcase his experiences in a realistic manner, he not only documents his travels, but also brings personal interpretation to life within his photographs by emphasizing composition and lighting.

Meadows of blooming wildflowers, deep valleys, cozy huts, and lush forests as far as the eye can see. Behind every rolling hill there’s something new to be found. In my case, I found a small green paradise.”

“For red, I decided to focus on the golden light at sunset. When the last light of the day fades away, layers of gold and red darken before nightfall, illuminating only the highest peaks. For a very short time, there is a magical alpenglow, tinting the massive mountains of the Berner Oberland in deep red hues.”

“To capture a sense of white in the summertime, I had to be high in the mountains. These days, the snow and especially the glaciers are retreating rapidly. With its ancient landscape and meandering ice tongue, the Aletsch Glacier is still Switzerland’s largest glacier. Though it is – deservedly – already an iconic location, I wanted to create a sense of appreciation and raise awareness of this fragile natural wonder.”

Where glaciers once shaped their way through stone, the Grimsel region is defined by stunning scenery that allowed me to capture an interaction of color and contour, light and dark.”
