CFB CAPSULE COLLECTION

Perfect timing: released in 2023 to mark the 135th anniversary of Carl F. Bucherer, the CFB Capsule Collection, featuring five distinctive watches, signals an exciting new direction for the Swiss watchmaker. Inspired by carbon, the essential element for life itself, and presented in pure black colorways, the collection reimagines some of the brand’s most popular timepieces, combining contemporary styling and materials with craftsmanship honed over more than a century. Created for people who not only have an entrepreneurial spirit, but who particularly appreciate exploring time differently. The spirit of this contemporary Capsule Collection is the very embodiment of what CFB stands for: exploration, travel, and the pursuit of new horizons.

NEW
YORK

The city that never sleeps, and an iconic skyline that owes its existence to the elemental geology beneath its crowded streets, where exceptionally hard bedrock has allowed for the construction of Manhattan’s tallest skyscrapers. That skyline –from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Empire State Building and with Lady Liberty at its center – has inspired countless artists, authors, and innovators. We now proudly unveil the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral Black in a forged carbon and titanium container: our own elemental contribution that perfectly complements the origins of this legendary metropolis. Presented in a matte black finish, this impressive timepiece is as captivating as New York itself after dark. Head to 12 East 57th Street to discover our flagship boutique – the famous TimeMachine, the true crown jewel of Manhattan’s watch retailers.

TOKYO

Tokyo, the definitive modern urban area, is the most heavily populated in the world, home to more than 38 million people, and a beacon of business and finance, publishing and broadcasting, fashion and creativity, food and drink, electronics, sports, culture, nature, and more. This megalopolis is truly a blur of bigcity buzz and trendsetting excitement. At its heart, we find a passionate following of watch aficionados and collectors, in a highly sophisticated market for timepieces. That’s no surprise given the cultural dedication for finely made objects and finesse across all facets of life. Consider the art of the tea ceremony, the intricate perfection of origami, and the artisanship of swordand knife-making. An appreciation for the craftsmanship, paired with the innate modernity of Tokyo, means the Manero Peripheral Perpetual Calendar Black fits right in.

MANERO PERIPHERAL BIGDATE

With a case crafted from forged carbon and titanium, the Manero Peripheral Big Date Black’s movement is the CFB A2011 manu facture caliber. The timepiece takes its name from the big bold date aperture, while its dial is rounded out with a day-of-the-week indicator and small seconds and power reserve subdials: an impressive amount of information at a glance. Limited to 188 pieces and featuring a COSC-certified chronometer.

ZURICH

In Switzerland, it is Zurich that takes the crown as probably the most cosmopolitan city of all. Not just because it’s our largest city either, but because of its status as a financial center, as the hub of the Swiss creative industry and media, its cultural contribution and nightlife, and fundamentally its dynamic mix of old and new make it an attractive destination for visitors from everywhere. Zurich pulses with a progressive energy that far bigger cities are envious of. It’s that innate attitude, and its connection to the international zeitgeist, that means it perfectly aligns with our own values – a spirit that comes alive in the Manero Peripheral Big Date Black.

HERITAGE BICOMPAX ANNUAL

The Heritage BiCompax Annual Black is the Capsule Collection’s interpretation of another CFB favorite, featuring a case made of DLC-coated stainless steel with a deep matte black lacquered surface. The dial features a big date and two chronograph counters, and the CFB 1972 caliber delivers an annual calendar function, which means the date only has to be changed once a year.

SHANGHAI

Arguably the perfect symbiosis of East meets West, Shanghai’s status as one of China’s most dynamic cities is underpinned by a colonial past, which means it’s innately tuned into outside influences as much as its own proud history. From the Bund, with its promenade framed by colonial-era buildings, and looking at the futuristic, shining skyline across the Huangpu River, this is just the canvas against which our Heritage BiCompax Annual Black feels perfectly at home.

MANERO FLYBACK

The Manero Flyback Black is the Capsule Collection’s expression of one of Carl F. Bucherer’s most popular watches. It has a stunning DLC-coated stainless steel case with a deep black lacquered surface. The CFB 1970 caliber features chronograph and flyback functions.

LONDON

“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” Although Dr. Samuel Johnson, creator of the modern dictionary, made this statement back in the 18th century, he perfectly articulated the city’s cosmopolitan attitude in a way that is somehow still true in the 21st-century city. Today’s London is a model of reinvention, where modern culture, architecture, and attitudes reflect a melting pot of contrasting styles, ethnicities, and trends that continually evolve alongside a history that stretches back millennia. As if that weren’t reason enough to co-launch the Manero Flyback Black here, London is also a city that has a special place in the heart of our third-generation owner, Jörg G. Bucherer, who has spent much time here among its keen watch aficionados.
