Seahurst Beach Walks

Located on Seahurst Park’s beach approx. ¼ mile north of the main park entry.

Toddler Time Every Wednesday 10:30–11:30am ESC is sharing the surprises of the season with toddlers. Children can hear stories, sing songs, create crafts and explore the natural wonders of Seahurst Park. Some days we’ll be inside, others we’ll be outside. Come connect with summer in a fun way! Be sure to register — look under Public Events:

Tide Pools For Tots Selected Wednesdays 10:30–11:30am June & July Spend time with your little one exploring Seahurst Beach alongside ESC naturalists. Enjoy stories and songs about local marine life before discovering the wonders of tide pools! JUNE 13 JUNE 27

How Can You Help a Stranded Beach Animal? If you see a baby seal, sea lion, or other mammal on the beach, follow these guidelines: DON’T TOUCH. These are wild animals and easily stressed by humans. Seal mothers often leave their pups ashore while they’re feeding at sea.

OBSERVE the animal from a distance of at least 50 ft. Keep people and dogs away.

CALL the Mast Center at 206.724.2687 to report an injured or deceased animal.

Stroll along the beach on a low tide and you’ll see that the shore is alive! Join the Seattle Aquarium’s Beach Naturalist Program on low tide days in late spring and summer to learn more about your local beach. Beach naturalists are local volunteers who care about Puget Sound beaches and want to help people learn about and enjoy their shorelines. Beach Naturalists know their beaches: they can help you enjoy the habitat without harming it; tell you what sea stars eat; explain why barnacles stand on their heads; describe how moon snails lay their eggs; and so much more. This is a free, familyfriendly, drop in program.
