Dean’s Message
Welcome back in your College of Information Technology! I hope you had the chance during this summer to practice some hobbies, make new friends, travel or just have a good rest. For those who have graduated, I would like, on behalf of my colleagues, to wish them a successful professional career. For the remaining ones, just boost your motivation and energy! In this issue of our IT Bulletin, I am pleased to announce that the IT College has started to accept in this fall semester 2010-2011 freshmen students in the new program of IT with two concentrations: Networking & Security and Databases & Web .Systems Good luck to Dr Riyadh and his team! In addition to that, the IT College has finalized the design of the new curricula for Computer Engineering and Information Systems before their submission to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for re-accreditation. Major changes were introduced in order to meet market needs and provide our graduates with the skills required to obtain entry-level positions in IT organizations. Finally, I would like to welcome the two new faculty members that have joined the Information Systems department in this fall semester: Dr. Mounir El-Khatib and Dr. Mus’ab .Al-Hnaiti From Dr. Hakim Khali Dean of the College of Information Technology

GITEX Trip GITEX 2010 (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is an annual consumer computer and electronics trade show which takes place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 17 to 21 October 2010. GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo is the largest gathering of the region’s leading ICT retailers and suppliers. This high-energy consumer show attracts a diverse audience that includes IT professionals, technology enthusiasts, students and consumers as well as regional traders. The College of Information Technology arranged a trip to Gitex Exhibition on Wednesday 20th of October 2010. Students not only enjoyed learning about new technologies, but also they enjoyed the offers provided by leading companies at the Exhibition. كلمة العميد طلبتنا األعزاء، أهال بكم من جديد في كلية تكنولوجيا املعلومات! وأملي أن جميع الطلبة قد انتهزوا عطلة الصيف ملمارسة بعض الهوايات ،وتكوين صداقات جديدة، والسفر ،واالسترخاء استعداد لعام جديد من اجلد واالجتهاد. للذين تخرجوا ،أود ،باسمي وباسم زمالئي ،أن أمتنى لهم حياة مهنية ناجحة .أما الطلبة اللذين مازالوا على مقاعد الدراسة ،فإني أحثهم على اجلد لبلوغ مرادهم. في هذا العدد من نشرة تكنولوجيا املعلومات يسرني أن أعلن أن الكلية قد بدأت مع مستهل الفصل اخلريفي 2011-2010في قبول طلبة بكالوريوس العلوم في تكنولوجيا املعلومات الذي يتفرع إلى مسارين اثنني: الشبكات وأمن املعلومات ،وقواعد البيانات ونظم اإلنترنت .وهنا ال يفوتني أن أتقدم بالشكر والتقدير إلى الدكتور رياض وفريقه. كما نبشركم أن الكلية قد استكملت إعداد اخلطط الدراسية اجلديدة لتخصصي هندسة احلاسوب ونظم املعلومات قبل تقدميها إلى وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي لتجديد االعتماد .وفد أدخلنا تغييرات هامة تلبية الحتياجات السوق وتوفير املهارات الالزمة للخريجني لتمكينهم من تولي مناصب مرموقة في مؤسسات تقنيات املعلومات. وأخيرا وليس آخرا ،أود أن أرحب باثنني من أعضاء هيئة التدريس اجلدد الذين انضموا إلى قسم نظم املعلومات خالل هذا الفصل :الدكتور منير اخلطيب والدكتور مصعب احلنيطي. بقلم د .حكيم خالي عميد كلية تكنولوجيا املعلومات

رحلة إلى معرض جيتكس
جيتكس ( 2010معرض لتكنولوجيا اخل��ل��ي��ج املعلومات) ه��و معرض سنوي جت��اري للحواسيب وااللكترونيات يقام في دبي. وقد أقيمت دورة هذه السنة خالل الفترة من 17ألى 21 أكتوبر .2010 ويعد معرض جيتكس أكبر جتم ًع لتجار التجزئة واملوردين ف��ي م��ج��ال تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصاالت في املنطقة كافة .ويجذب هذا احلدث السنوي جمهورا متنوعا يتضمن مهنيي تكنولوجيا املعلومات وهواتها والطلبة واملستهلكني وكذا التجار اإلقليمني. وقد نظمت كلية تكنولوجيا املعلومات رحلة إلى معرض جيتكس في 20أكتوبر ،مكنت طلبة الكلية من اكتشاف أجدد حلول تكنولوجيا املعلومات واستغالل التنزيالت املقدمة القتناء أحدث املنتجات املعروضة من قبل كبرى الشركات العاملية. بقلم أ .روحي الراعي مساعد محاضر منسق اجلمعية العلمية للطالب

جامعة عجمان وشركة بي سين تطلقان مركزا للتعليم التفاعلي والتدريب

أطلقت الكلية برنامجها اجلديد املوسوم «بكالوريوس العلوم في تكنولوجيا املعلومات» مبسارين: الشبكات وأمن املعلومات ،وقواعد البيانات ونظم االنترنت ،الذي اعتمد من قبل وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي .وقد استقبلت الكلية أول فوج من الطلبة في سبتمبر .2010وسريعا ،متكن هذا البرنامج من إثبات جناحه مع تسجيل أكثر من 30طالبا خالل
الفصل الدراسي األول. ويعد طلبة تخصص الشبكات وأمن املعلومات وقواعد البيانات ونظم االنترنت من أكثر خريجي تكنولوجيا املعلومات طلبا في سوق العمل على مستوى اإلمارات واخلليج العربي ،نظرا النتشار وارتفاع معدالت استخدام النظم احلاسوبية واخلدمات عبر اإلنترنت التي تقدمها املنظمات احلكومية واخلاصة واملؤسسات والشركات. وقد صمم البرنامج وفقا للمعايير الدولية ،ويقدم جميع املعارف واملهارات املطلوبة في مهنيي تكنولوجيا املعلومات التي تؤهلهم لوظائف مرموقة.
برنامج الماجستير
أعلنت كلية تكنولوجيا املعلومات في جامعة عجمان للعلوم والتكنولوجيا ،بشراكة مع شركة بي سني الدولية ،عن إطالق مركز جديد للتعليم التفاعلي والتدريب (Active Learning . )and Coaching Centerوقد أعلن عن هذا املركز الذي سيقدم حلوال متميزة في مجال تطوير الذات وحتسني األداء املهني خالل حفل أقيم في مقر اجلامعة بعجمان يوم 14أكتوبر .2010 وحسب هذه الشراكة اجلديدة ،فإن مؤسسة بي سني ،التي تعد بيت خبرة واستشارات وخدمات دولية لها فروع في كل من مصر والكويت وقطر واإلمارات ومختلف دول العالم ،ستقدم حلوال رائدة في مجال تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال للمؤسسات التي تتعاون مع جامعة عجمان وتزودها عبر شبكتها اإلقليمية من الشركاء االستراتيجيني ،بأفضل احللول واخلدمات في هذا اجملال .وسيعمل املركز اجلديد على تقدمي دورات تدريبية عالية اجلودة ،تسهل االلتحاق بسوق العمل وتكسب املتدربني مهارات إضافية ،قد ال يتسنى لهم تعلمها خالل مشوارهم اجلامعي، وتكون ضرورية في املناصب التي يرغبون في بلوغها ملزيد من املعلومات يرجى زيارة موقع اجلامعةwww.ajman.ac.ae :

إنارة هو عنوان هذا العمل الفني املصمم بتقنية التصميم اجلرافيكي .وحتكي هذه القطعة قصة مبنى قدمي عثر على ضوء ساطع شق طريقه عبر الغيوم ،ليعانق أسوار املبنى احلزين ويدفئ فؤاده ،كاشفا في خضم ذلك تاريخا غابرا من العظمة والشموخ. هذا العمل من إبداع سحر إقبال ،وهي طالبة في كلية تكنولوجيا املعلومات ،تهوى التالعب بالصور باستخدام فوتوشوب منذ أن كانت في الصف التاسع ،وقد منت هذه املوهبة لديها حتى أصبحت سحر جزء من اجملتمع الفني الذي يعرض لها هذه األعمال الفنية اإلبداعية .وهي اليوم تدرب نفسها على مفاهيم جديدة وتقنيات مبتكرة حتى تتفنن أكثر في مجال التصميم اجلرافيكي.

Ajman University & B-SEEN International Launch an Active Learning and Coaching Centre

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with its two tracks: Networking & Security and Databases & Web Systems which was accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research in 2010 welcomed its first intake of students in September 2010. The program proved to be successful with more than 30 students registered in the program in its first semester. Information technology specialists in the area of networking and security are very much sought after professionals in the UAE and Gulf market because of the wide spread and rising use of computerized systems and online services provided by government and private organizations and companies. The program is designed according to international standards and provides all the knowledge and skills required by IT professionals that gives them the edge in recruitment.
Master Program
The IT College at Ajman University of Science & Technology (AUST) and B-SEEN International Ltd (BSEEN) have announced the launching of an ‘Active Learning and Coaching Centre’. The new solution to personal development concepts and methods for employees was revealed at an event held at AUST campus in Ajman on October 14, 2010. BSEEN, which is a global consulting and services company that delivers high impact ICT, will help AUST obtain the best solutions through its managed family of region-focused Strategic Partners with industry expertise and provide it with the best in bread ICT solutions and services. The college of IT offers a Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) designed to accommodate students with Computingrelated Major background. The MSIS program requires a total of 33 credit hours divided into the following components: Core Courses = 15 credits hours, Career Electives - 9 credits hours, and Master’s Thesis - 9 credits hours. The study plan for full-time students extends over two years (Two semesters for the coursework, and two semesters for the thesis). The study plan for part-time students extends over a four-year period.

Talents Illumine means to illuminate, light. This piece is centered around the ruins of an old building onto which a bright light finds its way through the clouds, illuminating it thus revealing a shadow of its former grandeur. Sahar Iqbal is a Student in IT College, who has been into photo manipulation since 9th grade by using Photoshop application. As she grew older, she became part of an art community that exposed her to graphic design and other creative art forms. She now educates herself on designing concepts and new techniques to grow as an artist.
