Last night the world watched as Kathryn Bigelow created history, by becoming the first female to win Best Director at the Oscars. Today, March 8, is International Women’s Day and her win could not have come at a better time. Under the theme, Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities: Progress for All, today marks the 100th anniversary of the occasion. Every year, International Women’s Day seeks to inspire women worldwide, while highlighting our many accomplishments. It originally started because of the determination of women who campaigned for better wages, the right to vote and an end to discrimination. Put simply, it’s a time for women everywhere to celebrate being a woman. As we chart our course in life, let us never forget the sacrifices made by those great women long ago, who helped to ensure that we enjoy the freedoms we do today. Realising the importance of pursuing one’s dreams, Bennett is focused on developing not only the company, but also herself. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism, has worked in Europe, speaks fluent French and is a trained chef. Her ultimate goal in life is simple, yet speaks volumes about the nature of her personality. “I want to be happy and have a positive impact on my community and my society on a whole,” she said. “I not only want to build myself but others.”

Bennett holds the title of director of marketing, sales and public relations and her plans for the company are endless. “I have big dreams. I invite everyone to pay attention and see. We believe that everything is achievable. We thank God everyday for the positivity and love that’s around us,” she said.
She is currently engrossed in the Little Red Book of Selling by Jeffrey Gitomer and says she is motivated by her loved ones. “Family and friends are very dear to me,” she said. t has to be some sort of game, something hard wired into the DNA of males and females since we crawled out of the primordial ooze or God made the world, whatever your take on that is. The game that I speak of can be likened to one that most of us are familiar with, Charades. A more fitting name could not be found in the presence of a sartorialist.

We humans are so intricately unique in our mental and emotional make up that it is necessary to find that homogenous mix that will serve its purpose for the time that it was meant to do just that. Who has time to work out daddy issues and self love questions over a drink at Suzie’s? The time from initial meeting to actual progression can be a treacherous span where a wrong statement sets off alarms that will never really be quieted. Our image modifier helps us to ease into people’s lives with as little friction as possible, so by the time the heavy stuff gets put on the table, hopefully the sex will be good enough to serve as impetus to work that out.

Charades is what I like to refer to as the process of the pursuit of a romantic involvement with another human being, in most cases the pursuer being the male counterpart. Why ‘Charades”? Well it’s simple, most men and women have a completely different persona that is designed to attract members of the opposite sex. Depending on the relative skill and competence of the players in the game, this polymorphic image can adapt to fit any situation and is only partly shed when both parties become comfortable enough to turn off the image modifier. “Be yourself ”...
